This looks NOTHING like the original novel.

It seems more like it has a mix of the Secret of the Unicorn and one of the many novels that take place in the Arab world (The Crab with the Golden Claws or the Red Sea Sharks most likely). They don't show the part where the Bird Brothers kidnap Tintin and put him in prison in Marlinspike (Haddock didn't own it until Red Rackham's Tresaure).

And considering Nickelodeon is sponsoring this do you think they'd keep in a lot of the smoking and booze that characterize Tintin novels? How about the drug smuggling and gun running? I certainly hope so.

Also they should go through the entire series, including the controversial Tintin in the Congo and Tintin in the Land of the Soviets. It helps the audience to understand Herge's evolution as a graphic novelist.

I also hope there's going to be a French version (in fact, I'd want to see it in French with subtitles). -CSM

That's from the Crab with the Golden Claws, which was before the Secret of the Unicorn, and The Shooting Star happened in between those two. Also, if they're including Red Rackham's Treasure, they need to include Professor Calculus! He's pretty much my favorite character in the series and he debuts in Red Rackham with his shark submarine and hearing impediment.

Also I noticed that they're combining the Blue Lotus with Tintin in Tibet; the Blue Lotus is a direct sequel to The Cigars of the Pharaoh, and they need to put those two together. I know they did Tintin in Tibet because of Chang Chong Chen, but that's a story unto itself and should be isolated because it was considered Herge's most brilliant work.

Also I'm kind of surprised they're not doing....

Nickelodeon used to import "The Adventures of Tintin" with the smoking, drinking, guns, & death intact (I don't remember a lot of non-alcoholic drugs, though), and they aired it as a Nick Jr. show.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
