Well, I hate the Mario Baseball games, so maybe they were using that AI pathfinding that allows them to follow and catch every pop fly perfectly.

Hinigata should've bunted it. Also, I'm suprised she didn't try to kill them for that.

I didn't remember what the hell Glitzville was, but the comic provided enough context to riddle it out. The pun was the funny part, though.

There's no good onomatopoeia for the "falling object whistle sound" they use in cartoons, btw. Part of that's because only bombs and similarily made objects make that sound, so we don't ever hear it au naturale.

Funfact: the short-range cruise missiles Germany made in WWII traveled faster than sound, and their engines cut out before they came into range of being heard - so you'd only hear the whistle of the falling incendiary after it hit.
