Actually, Pirates originally was a single movie, but following the outstanding success, they hurried into making it a trilogy. Hence the reason 1 was fantastic, while 2 and 3 were a little subpar. They had to rush the writing, not only to release the movies within a decent timeframe (after the first), but also because they were filming a lot of scenes from BOTH movies at the same locations. Regardless, I did enjoy all the movies, and I think Johnny Depp is one of the best actors out there, so I'll be seeing Pirates 4 whenever it comes out. ;)

plz keep orlando and kiera out of the movie thx

I liked the first.

The second left a bad taste in my mouth. I even remember ranting about it soon after watching it.

The first was a very good movie. I loved it.

The second was terrible. It had nothing good for it.

The third was ok. It kinda dragged on though.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

I thought the second was pretty good but the third was ridiculous. Especially when they had Keira trying to act like a pirate king or something, I mean I know it's a ****ing Disney movie but come on.

^I actually preferred the second over the third as well. Elizabeth became this ultra-powerful Mary Sue; she annoyed me. >:[

But the first is still superior.

Nothing beats watching Captain Jack Sparrow make his grand entrance atop a ship mast with a calm look of cool piratey badassness. Then to see the camera pan out and realize that he's actually riding on a sinking ship making it only steps from the shipping dock and walking non chalantly into Port Royal.

I'm definitely looking forward to this movie. I have the first three and love them to bits. Sparrow is awesome. :D

Wait a second! Something’s not right here. You were just making it look like you were filming in the Caribbean! You’re a phony! Hey, this guy’s a great big phony! Hey, you’re a great big phony you know that?!

1. I'll hardcore take any pirate movies they're willing to dish out.
2. Ian McShane as Blackbeard is pretty much the best casting ever.
3. I've learned Lego has signed on to make 'Pirates of the Caribbean' sets. As a longtime Lego pirate ship collector, I'm stoked. Especially inasmuch as one of the announced sets is called 'Queen Anne's Revenge' (aka Blackbeard's ship, for those of you not up on your pirate lore).

Or until the sales go down, whichever goes first.
