I defeated someone who beat Metal Man once, in the NLBFT.
Of course, this tournament runs on damage, which is why I pimped it out to the max in that department. Maybe too much, which may swing around and damage my score. I dunno; realistically I'm fine either way, since if I win, well, we all like winning, and if I lose, then I take the culture of uber-power stuff down the drain with me, so, win-win.

This is not so clear cut as Zaidon makes it sound. The response from the judges could be anywhere from "Dude it's all good MM wins" to "Dude, you're totally disqualified from ever posting in the Gunjin again."
More realistically, one of the following will happen:
1. The last post is deemed perfectly fine. Metal Man wins.
2. The last post is considered unfair and costs Metal Man points, giving me an edge in the score department.
3. The last post is deemed completely illegal, and the scoring is then based only on the posts that occurred beforehand. A toss up.
Metal Man, read your visitor messages.

Just as valid is
4. The last post is deemed perfectly fine. Traveler wins.
My migraines are acting up to much for me to want to focus on reading and forming an opinion on those walls of text at the moment. You two judges hurry up before I feel the need to do so.
If I need to ignore all this, flip a coin, and throw the next topic up, I will. This round has already been going on for like 3x longer then it should have. Especially with all the no shows.
You know what? Just in case it does come to that let's save some time.
Traveler.
Call it.

Yes, I would agree. It is just as possible for Traveler to be declared the victor with my last post included, depending on how the individual judge and blahblahblah.
We should move on sometime soon, lest whoever remains loses interest in turn. ;)

I implied Tazy was the winner. Tazy is already out of the tournament. It was a joke, man. jokejokejokejokejoke
Unless you're joking, too, in which case I'm an idiot right now. MAYBE I'M AN IDIOT EITHER WAY.
The inability to perceive one's tone of voice over the internet really hampers my already poor psychoanalytical abilities. Sometimes I just have no idea what other people are thinking. I also watch The Mentalist beause he amazes me.
Consider your thread :spam:'d.

Ah, Brett Firestorm. I should fight him sometime, especially since a number of my tactics were partially inspired by him.

^^Your goading had nothing to do with it. I dropped by because my little brother is going into the semifinals of his very first tournament here. Tell you what, win this tournament and I'll humor you with a battle.
*tears off shirt to reveal 'Go Zaidon' in blue bodypaint and waves '#1 battler' flag*

No. The disco ball attacks, the vending machine; that was all you!
Just kidding, I mean mostly the less 'weird' stuff with more basic battles than the one happened here.
So, if I win this tournament, I get to fight you? Would be the first time a vet other than Joker or Repster fought me without vanishing mysteriously as I am about to begin the bulk of my stuff.

*continues crying*
Metal Man, read this whole page.
http://www.vgf.com/forums/gunjin-battle ... ead-5.html
You are not allowed to speak or type again until you have done so.
As far as fighting the winner, I was addressing Traveler because he already threw the glove down. I guess I'll make the offer open to you as well then, for nostalgia's sake.
However, the right of first blood belongs to my old sparring partner. Traveler, you're on when this tourny's over. It seems my novel-sized posts rubbed off on you, just as your philosophy of entertainment-over-victory rubbed off on me.
*Waves the 'Go Zaidon' flag again*

^Don't beat yourself up, bro, save that for us.
Seems like a pretty minor/common mistake anyway. Like Brian. :p
Anyway, sup, FS?
Saw you online the other [strike]day[/strike] night/morning with my [strike]secret ninja[/strike] viewing "who's online?" skills.
Even sent you a greeting I think.
I somewhat remember you from my earlier days.
I enjoyed reading your kick-@ss posts in Ten Towers (which though you seemed to plan to, never finished) during my time away from VGF because of the place we lived/no money.
Anyway, welcome back for however long.
Anyway, I should get to my other battles/ studying every post ever made by Rep.
I think I'll leave you [strike]old[/strike] experienced Gunjineers to your reminiscing, without interupting... For the moment at least...

Whoa. What's up, bro?
You can imagine my reaction when I saw
Gunjin (Battlefield) (23 viewing)... Firestorm

I think it's time I taught you how to post videos.
I tried to quote your post and this is what showed up:
Within the mounds of crap that you copy/pasted, you should see a URL somewhere.

and

This is what shows up at the top of the screen in the URL field while you're actually watching the video on YouTube, wrapped in video tags. But that's not what you want.
Take the actual video code itself, not the whole URL...
http://www.youtube.com/v/zjqZ0aIAgFM
http://www.youtube.com/v/anwy2MPT5RE
wrap that in video tags, and the mystical, magical world of VGF will do the rest for you. So if you simply type in

you will get

instead of

Good God, Firestorm, why did you link that? That was a goddamn mess. The whole thing. But actually, at least it was active. Overblown and bloated, but active.
Actually, now I'm feeling nostalgic to go back over the last few NLBFTs and compare them to the last two failures... Strangely, NLBFT 9 was a similar failure in its own way, not in that no-one participated, but in that nobody really tried, and after that there wasn't another tourney for a while... Perhaps we should move away from the tournament format for a bit? After all, NLBFT 10 was a success (and not because I won (by .1, and I still think Bomby deserved it), it actually ran smoothly) and NLBFT 11, while overblown, was actually a decent success as well. I don't remember much of NLBFT 12, but though there were a few no-shows and dropouts, it went surprisingly well. NLBFT 13 actually went decently until the final round. This one, on the other hand, fell apart. It's obvious why: I bit off more than I could chew (as I tend to do) by signing on to judge just as I was starting college, and so many people have personal lives, so they couldn't actually participate. It was a rushjob. But you know, actually, this tournament can be salvaged; after all, whoever wins Traveler v. Metal Man is going to have an amazing battle with Zaidon, and Rep and Guild will be awesome as well. The championship round is shaping up to be one for the books.
Yeah, I know, I'm ranting and we could get on with this if I'd just read the posts. I'm going to try to get as much done as I possibly can tonight. I'm a little bit inspired by that NLBFT chat thread, which, while being embarrassing because 15 year old Galefore was a bitch, actually brought up some good points.
So yeah. I'mma try to kickstart this dead horse.
EDITEDITEDIT
OKAY.
Judgment time.
Forget numbers, I'm gonna play this straight and address the whole thing.
The violence here was soooo much better. More visceral, more nasty, more gritty. Especially Traveler, who I think really went for it in his battle post. Metal Man's stuff was really cool and over-the-top and, as usual, very unique, but I think Traveler outdid him in the creativity factor as well (I felt a genuine sense of "whoa thats so epic" as I imagined Kryp's megasuperswordchragetornado).
Now, I had to read Metal's last post carefully to decide if it was dramatic enough a breach in rules to discount him from participating. I decided it wasn't, since I've seen more than enough battles end the same way and in some cases, they somehow managed to go beyond even that. It's hard, but it's happened before. It was a bit much, and I'd prefer that we don't go that far next round, but I felt that the following is so important it really wouldn't have mattered if I dq'd MM or not.
Why? Because Traveler really owned it. His battle post? Magnificent. Putting aside my desire for a good wince or two (which you actually delivered when you twisted Metal Man's leg backwards), there was a lot of great detail and wonderful style that just really proved your versatility. It was so different from last round that it felt like I was reading a different author, and yet it was still just as good. So kudos, you really owned it.
That's not to say Metal Man didn't do a fantastic job. He did. It's just that I think Traveler really did the best job portraying the violence and the attacks and damage he portrayed was just mind-blowingly cool. I loved it. And I even loved it when it went over-the-top and Metal Man became METAL ZOMBIE and everything fell into chaos. It was very memorable, and a good performance from both, but as I've stated numerous times, for me, the clear winner was:
Traveler.

Page number 65. The last page.
Scroll down. All the way down. Those dates? Mid 2002. That last topic? Page 2, post 11. That's where you need to start.
Hope you got yourself plenty of caffeine and are a speed reader. Your in for a long haul. I'm older then the archives.

Crap. To tell you the truth, I'd rather fight Repster than The Traveler. And that's saying a lot because I know Repster from my reading-over-Firestorm's-shoulder days, back when he was the Dragon.
So if I could just grab Guildmaster and use him as a human shield between me and Traveler... then ambush Repster...
*hinthintGaleforehinthint*
I am so wishing I said "Omega Division" right now.
Nevertheless, you've all fought hard and you certainly deserve to fight me at the top of my game. I don't plan on wussing out now, and I don't plan on holding back either, if I am to take it to the finals.
Let the games begin.

*Bryan breaks Zaidon's arm in several places with three quick, precise motions, effectively removing Zaidon's hand from his shoulder. Bryan then, with one hand clenched around Zaidon's injured arm, flings Zaidon at Traveler. The two collide, giving off a sickening crack as their heads collided. Effectively causing them to argue amongst each other, keeping them from interfering with the Guild/Rep match in any way, and ensuring a good show for all readers next round.
All in a few motions' work. ^_^
