Animatrix's Studio 4°C to Animate New ThunderCats
Animatrix's Studio 4°C to Animate New ThunderCats - Anime News Network
This news is a few months old, but I hadn't heard about it now. A new anime is being made based off of ThunderCats, produced by the same studio that did The Animatrix, Batman: Gotham Knight, and Halo Legends. Looking at the promotional art, it also looks like the new series will be a bit darker than the one from the 80's.
Anyone else interested?

I'm Lion-O - Relient K should be used as theme song even if it is darker, I don't care.
Also, for whatever reason, though I don't remember watching it as a kid, I find it quite nostalgic. Strange, huh?
I hope they don't screw it up.

^ They somehow imagine they're doing it justice by redoing it, but they're usually just ruining my childhood memories by making something horrible to associate it with. SWORD OF OMENS, GIVE ME SH*TE BEYOND SH*TE. THUNDER. THUNDER. THUNDE-OHGODWHATISITSOMEBODYKILLIT.
oh god reliant k*Bryan wrote:I'm Lion-O - Relient K should be used as theme song even if it is darker, I don't care.

Yeah, RK plays crappy wannabe emo pop stuff with zero originality, sorry. Three strikes and you're out, etc.*Bryan wrote:Relient K is awesome. Your statement is moot. Actually, I've never heard of "Reliant K." :p
I was kind of kidding about using that as the theme song though.
And forgive me for knowing how to spell the word correctly.

Thursday? Silverstein?Vigilante Kevorkian Reloaded Part Deux wrote:I don't think you know what Emo is, bro.
Back to Thunda' Thunda' Thunder THUNDERCATS(!), I can't wait for this. Looks awesome. And anyone that disagrees, I will give you one reason why there's nothing with them rebooting an 80's cartoon, because some have been saying that it's unoriginal.
The He-Man cartoon from a few years ago. :yay:

^ Thursday and Silverstein are maybe modern examples of emo (and while they're good bands, they're not necessarily the best examples of modern emo), but the genre is a lot deeper than them. Eventually I'm probably going to make a thread in the music forum going through the history of what exactly emo is. But whatever. On topic time.
I actually kind of agree with 1-up. I mean, I was never really big on He-Man, but other 80s cartoon reboots were good. The 2000s TMNT was good (though the origin of the Turtles isn't a cartoon) and of course... My Little Pony. So Thundercats, even with its old 80s raditude, might end up being a decent remake.

Yeah, I usually consider the modern emo genre, as far as musical qualities go, to be a mix of pop-punk, metal, and post-hardcore/screamo. I also consider early My Chemical Romance to be emo, but that's for another discussion- I expect you all to start flaming me. :lol:SWAG. wrote:^ Thursday and Silverstein are maybe modern examples of emo (and while they're good bands, they're not necessarily the best examples of modern emo), but the genre is a lot deeper than them. Oh, and I would say that TMNT is identified by most through the 80's cartoon. And He-Man was sooooo good. It had alot of character development and intense action compared to the first series.
