Saban re-acquires rights to 'Rangers' - Entertainment News, TV News, Media - Variety

Because the Disney revision of Mighty Morphin' was so bad, the rights to the show have been acuired once more by the original owners.

Apparently, all episodes, from start to finish, will be reairing in their original, unchanged forms. And there will also be twenty new episodes, with more to come if they are recieved well enough. Read te article for more.

So they re-edited the Mighty Morphin' series to fit they're specifications, or they're newest "generation" of the Rangers sucked really hard?

What they did was they took the original episodes, then added stuff to it to give it a more Comic Book-esque feel, and it just didn't work.

Nah, the later seasons did suck, but maybe with this new start they could make another good season.

Zeo (season 4) was pretty good at first, until they started needing a huge hangar to house the 5 Megazord-sized robots (2 of which were, in fact, Megazords which they just gave up on disassembling).
I, like many others, abandoned the show during Turbo (season 5), when they used freakin' cars for zords & made a 10-year-old magically double in height to be the Blue Ranger.

I didn't watch Power Rangers in Space (season 6), largely because the title put me in a less-than-receptive mindset, but majority opinion is that it was better than Turbo.
Zordon dies at the end of Space, though,
so every season after 6 is basically completely disjoint from all of the others, except for the season where
Tommy comes back & builds new Dinozords,
which unfortunately was NOT the only time zord templates were reused.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I just hope MMPR will appeal to today's youth, because you never know what will interest them.

^ Yeah, pretty much.

Video games and a new movie are also apparently in the works as well, which will also be very interesting.

While I'm sure this is great for fans of the franchise as a whole, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed since Mighty Morphin, (the only series I actually liked. blame the Nostalgia Filter...) will be moving to a channel I don't have. I didn't mind the reversion all that much, except for the nonsound effects ("Betrayed!" "Power Fail!" "Victory!" I mean, seriously?)
I guess all I can do is hope for a DVD release.

My 4-year old cousin and I watched the reversioned MMPR every Saturday, and he liked it a lot...

Maybe now we can get a team of teenagers with attitude for the series again.

I work the overnight shift at work and I am fortunate enough to see old episodes of the Power Rangers from time to time and relive my youth through a brand new set of eyes.

Sure the show is ridiculous but I love every minute of it now just as much as I did then.
