I make it a personal goal that every post I do in my thread contain a comic.

^ I didn't have Chiyo in mind when I made Keiguru, but the similarities are there. The only logical difference is that Keiguru's pigtails don't detach and double as a miscellaneous array of outlandish devices.

And now, I bring you some text.

I just wanted to add something here.

I've been going through all my old drawings lately and ultimately realized (more profoundly) that I've kept at these characters for a good six years. I just happened to find that astounding as I have never had the consistent perseverance for anything else I've ever really valued. I've constantly given up many a thing in my childhood, but there was just something about the idea of fictionalizing identities that gave me the premonition that this ability to create would lead to infinite possibilities of entertainment; not just for me, but for those I present my work to.

Although I stated I developed these characters myself in the first post, I foolishly overlooked a key player in helping me bring these characters to life, and I can honestly say that without her support and encouragement, most of these characters would not even exist. Yes, that's HotD (BIG SURPRISE). She was the one with the curiosity that helped spurn me to build up these characters further, she was my only supporter in a world surrounded by a family that didn't appreciate my art, she was the one helping me generate ideas and aided in character development, and more importantly, she was the sole incentive to develop the cast further. Therefore, she deserves much credit for how my work is now. I could not imagine developing these ideas further by myself, for I would lack the motivation. I needed someone to be my audience--my sole purpose to create all this for. And I found that (or she found me?) in her. HotD, if you're reading this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Oh, yeah...and I love you. :D

...Sounds like something more fitting for a final note, huh? WELL, I WANTED TO EXPRESS MYSELF. AMATEUR COMIC ARTISTS HAVE FEELINGS TOO.

tl;dr: My art would've not reached this point without HotD's help.

Anyway, back to comic-stripping.

Admittedly, this would make more sense if it was in color.

I'm not sure if you mentioned this already, but how many characters do you actually have?

I think Bill Amend beat me to this joke.

^ Of the characters I actually use, approximately 120.

Presenting HotD's #1 favorite comic of mine, done back in 2006.

Yep. That's a Celebi.

They'll hire anyone at some schools nowadays...

Do you take commissions or requests or something because I have a few ideas for characters that I just can't bring myself to draw for a lack of a) motivation, b) skill, and c) motivation. Image

Yes, all those names mentioned are actual characters.

^^^ So you're saying you want your characters done in a generic anime fashion? :p

Sure, I can see if I can find time to help you out. If you wanna get into detail about it, PM me.

Yeah, I totally feel that in my drawings. I guess it stems from anime, where all the girls look exactly the same except for hair style. Their hair is even colour-coded for your convenience.

Also, I thought it would be funnier if Itsuki was a guy in that comic. Just saying.

Come to think of it, there aren't a lot of guys in this comic.

Either this is an all-girls school or the guys simply aren't as interesting to write about.

Corollary: guys like looking at girls.

I propose another hypothesis, señor: guys like girls.
Men are not subtle — men are obvious. Women know what men want. Men know what men want. What do we want? We want women! It's the only thing we know for sure: we want women! How do we get women? Oh, we don't know that. After that first step, we have no idea. This is why you see men honking their car horns, yelling from construction sites; these are the best ideas we've had so far.

I watched a documentary on Dawson's bees; it was frightening.

^^ That's because [strike]most males are stereotyped with a barbaric and impulsive nature that I find disconcerting, and attempts to break that image have been done to death. Plus the fact girls are more interesting to write this kind of humor for because no one really does. Harem genres usually just portray the same old thing with love, fanservice, sexual tension, fanservice, relegation--and distribution--of slapstick to males, fanservice, esoteric discussion, and more fanservice. I just wanted to try something different, that's all.[/strike] I'm a guy.

It might as well be an all-girl's school, anyway. Or I could've just made them all whiptail lizards and justified that altogether.
