I was really hoping it would be Robert Pattinson. Thanks to ridiculing Stephanie Meyer and Edward, yet still taking the money and doing a half-assed job with the role, he's one of my favorite actors right now.

[some level of exaggeration intended]

Because British tabloids don't have a lengthy track record of blatantly making **** up.

While it would be hilarious that a tabloid that has a track record of just running things to see if they were true nailed this on the head, the odds of them outscooping domestic US tabloids and the US entertainment beat on this borders on non-existent.

^ I'll echo that. If you guys are just snapping this stuff up, you need to work on your judgment of legitimacy.

I just wanted to hear the screams of Spiderman fans.

Mwa ha ha ha ha.

Although like any rumor, there is a chance it could be true.

"One More Day" and "Brand New Day" completely desensitized me to anything anybody could possibly do to Spider-Man. Now they could give him gender-reassignment surgery and I wouldn't bat an eye.

Do whatever you want, Marvel. I just don't give a **** anymore.

This whole reboot story is actually pretty sad if you think about it. I think the general consensus is that Sam Raimi realized that Spider-Man 3 wasn't up to par and was working hard to make amends with the fourth. However, the creative differences that started with the third, continued with the fourth effectively killing the project.

This reboot was actually Sony's "back-up plan" the whole time, since they needed to make a film by a certain point before the rights go back to Marvel.

Personally, I'm really up in the air about the reboot. I really liked Marc Webb's (500) Days of Summer, however it's a much different type of film than Spider-Man. I do have to say though, rebooting a series after less than a decade sets a poor precedent.

So if they take too long, Spidey could be in the Avengers film?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Spider-Man doesn't belong with the Avengers at all, but Marvel had to go and **** that up too.

There's still "Marvel Adventures". It's pretty good from what I've read.

^ That's pretty good. Not enough of a serious plot at sometimes, but it's fun to read and it's not just a crappy cash-in.
