Mala Noche - a bit disappointing, but visually beautiful.
Chop Shop - Not quite sure if I'm as enthusiastic about Ramin Bahrani as Roger Ebert is, but this was a very solid film.

The Chess Players - first film I've seen by Satyajit Ray. Supposedly not one of his best, and it definitely felt a bit uneven, but I definitely look forward to seeing more from him.
Twilight - My friends decided they wanted to watch it to make fun of it, and I had to join in. It was entertainingly bad at first, but turned into just plain bad quite soon. The best I can say about the film is that the actors seemed like did the best they could, given the shoddy script and poor direction. As much as I hate it when people expect all films to be "realistic," I simply couldn't believe that the girl would fall for a guy who claims, among other things, that he appears in her bedroom because he enjoys watching her sleep. I also had many problems with the formal aspects of the film, but I won't bore you with that.

Isn't it amazing how negative reactions garner more words about a film than positive reactions?

Superman/Batman Public Enemies. 4/5.

Executive producer: Bruce Timm <3. Allison Mack (Chloe from Smallville) did the voice of Powergirl. The original voices from the Superman cartoon and Batman cartoon were brought back to do the voices of Superman, Batman, and Lex Luthor. It was neat how they did the animation is a mix of new and old styles. The characters were drawn in the same style that the guy who did the Batman/Superman comic books drew it.
