Microsoft announces Halo anime miniseries

Microsoft announces Halo anime miniseries
At the San Diego Comic-Con, Microsoft revealed plans to create an anime-style Halo miniseries called Halo Legends. As reported by the LA Times, "Five production houses in Japan are handling the physical animation, but Microsoft's creative staff is approving major visual and storytelling decisions." Those five well-known anime studios: Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G, Studio4 C, and Toei Animation. The seven-part series will be released on DVD and "digital platforms" in early 2010 through Warner Bros.

Microsoft's Frank O'Connor discussed the project with the Times in his new position as creative director of 343 Industries, which, as speculated, is Microsoft's Halo division. "If you look at how George Lucas held on to 'Star Wars,' not just to make money from action figures but to control the direction the universe went in, you can see why we think it's pretty vital," O'Connor said of Microsoft's interest in maintaining control of the Halo franchise. "Luckily, Microsoft has the resources to enable us to do that."
Look good to you?

Well, so long as they don't do ANY of those anime style cliches (The sweat drops as big as one's face, anger lines, etc.), this could prove to be very interesting.

Sitting in this room playing Russian roulette,
Finger on the trigger to my dear Juliet,
Out from the window see her back drop silhouette,
This blood on my hands is something I cannot forget,

^ Then just don't watch it or play it. It's one thing to dislike something, and to express your disliking of something in an appropriate manner, but there are some people who will probably genuinely enjoy it.

That being said, I never got what the fuss was about Halo.

Some of us enjoy Halo, thank you.

As the old saying goes, STFU.

And some of us don't want anime as a medium being clogged up with generic, Americanime sci-fi fare.

Personally, I can easily "just not watch" something, but I can understand the disgust of others at the mere existence of certain things.

Then take solace in the fact that it will probably not be shown in Japan, as the Xbox franchise has been a failure over there, which means that just as much quality anime will still be made specifically for Japanese audiences, which you and I will someday be able to [strike]download fansubs of[/strike] import expensively.

Or, for the more stereotypical Bomby inflammatory quasi-Marxist response:

Halo is Microsoft's cash cow. This is what you ask for when you go with Capitalism.

It'll probably be along the lines of Animatrix or Gotham Knight.

Animation looks decent.

Also yes, there was a Spartan 1337.
