Weisz Says Hollywood Should Ban Botox
Weisz Says Hollywood Should Ban Botox

While some celebs might head to their nearest plastic surgeon for a botox touch-up, Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz says the face-freezing injection should be "banned" for actors.

"It should be banned for actors, as steroids are for sportsmen," Weisz told the UK Harper's Bazaar. "Acting is all about expression; why would you want to iron out a frown?" said 'The Constant Gardener' and 'The Mummy' actress.

Weisz confesses she prefers a more laid-back look -- one that she doesn't see so often in the United States.

"I love the way girls in London dress. It's so different to the American 'blow-dry and immaculate grooming' thing,' she said.
Spot on. (But fyi, Rach, plenty of American girls do the laid-back thing, just not in the city where you work.)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Botox-faces are gross, but if you start banning that, then you better go all-out and ban the entire elective cosmetic surgery field.
Nonsense, I have not yet begun to defile myself.

I'd be cool with that. (Just at the industry level, of course, not as a law or anything.)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I have to say the this topic borderlines of celebrity gossip (something I'm not crazy about). However, I don't know what other forum it would fit in.

Yeah... Not really particularly "movie" related.

Either way, Rachel Weisz is a good actress and definitely does not need botox.

Of course, I generally don't think that anyone needs botox. That's just my way of saying that she's good looking. We know you knew that, but our lawyers prefer we make silly statements like this just in case.

I suppose I could move it to the 'current events' forum or something, but I don't feel like it.

I thought about putting it in Current Events, but it's not so much of an "event". Posting the thread in the first place was more my way of saying "yeah, she's right that it's stupid for actors to use facial paralytics".

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
