Extreme Movie (200 8)

Looks....different (i.e. I'm not sure if it's a spoof film)

Good news: It's not from those guys.
Bad news: People are gonna think it was. They're also gonna think it's about extreme sports, when it's actually an anthology of sex-com sketches.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

It's not a satire if there's no underlying message.

I just found out (through a poster in the movie theatre) that the Wayans are back in the genre (not that it's a good thing).

Dance Flick (2009)

One thing to note is that the film is directed by Damien Wayans, who is nephew to the Wayans Brothers (Shawn, Marlon, Keenon-Ivory, Damon, etc). This is a change from Keenon-Ivory being the usual director.

It looks pretty good.

Except it has "flick" at the end instead of "movie."

I doubt it'll be too much of a step up. What was the last movie that the Wayans worked on? Little Man?
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

The ideas are funny. The execution is poor.

The last good Wayans spoof movie was Don't Be A Menace to South Central.

^ Even that ceased to be funny after the first 30 minutes.

I saw the trailer and I think the film will be at least watchable (not that I'll see it).

I wrote about (and posted) the trailer in my blog: Sean Kelly on Movies: Trailer Thoughts: Dance Flick
