^^ Oh God, now all this movie needs is a poorly done sex scene where one of the characters has to explain bodily functions to the other because the person is like 30 and doesn't know what c** is yet, as well as some mpreg, and it's every fanfiction ever.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

This. I know a Twilight fan who saw the movie at midnight. She said it was ok. Then she turned away from me and talked to people about how hot the guys in the movie were. I died on the inside. It's not as sad as people saying "IM SAKURA AND NARUTO IS MIEN SQUEE <3", though.

Also, to page Val's post, I need to read page 7. :bitnaughty:

I saw it with my sister. I never read the books, and I don't think I will. I mocked it the whole way through. The point where I could no longer take it seriously was the whole "sparkly incident". What is wrong with people? Vampires burn up in sunlight, dammit. Apparently there are few to no drawbacks to being a vampire these days.

And none of them exhibit the ability to command animals or familiars, control mortals' minds, or even change their appearance of age depending on their abundance or lack of blood. The vampire family looked like a bunch of goth wannabes. With that deficiency of badassness they do not qualify as vampires.

As an author, the fact that this drivel actually becomes so popular is a personal offence. *facepalm*

Urrrrgh, not cool, my girlfriends best friend is making her see this movie, and alice hates twilight, so she's dragging me along so she doesn't DIE of boredom. T_T

Maybe they are like the White Court vampires in the Dresden files.

Shiny (And stunningly gorgeous) vampires that can feed off of human emotions and can freely walk in the sunlight, but with only a fraction of the power of the regular vampires.

I hadn't heard of the series before the movie. Now I want to stab every preteen girl or lonely middle-aged woman who comes to the movie theater to see it. Every aspect of this movie annoys me. The abstinence subtext, the misogyny, the flat characters, the misguided attempts of defining "love." I don't know if I hate Edwards squinty looks at Bella or Bella's mouth-agape looks at Edward more. I just want an asteroid to hit everyone involved with this series.

Just a know it all moment, but the original versions of vampires weren't harmed by sunlight and weren't very sexy at all.Example of non sexiness Nosferatu.
The two things were brought in by most of the popular films.[/knowitall]

Are you talking about the movie 'Nosferatu'?

Because it's been a while, but I'm pretty sure sunlight is what kills the vampire there.
