'Max Payne' Theatrical Trailer on Yahoo! Video
I think I want to go see a movie. Wow.

Also, I suddenly want to go buy Antichrist Superstar.

Yeah I saw the new trailer yesterday.

However, I must have played the wrong video game, since I don't remember a bunch of angel creatures.

Comment from Kibbleking: "Y'know, it doesn't seem right to be going to see a movie based on a game that's actually good. It's just not the natural order of things."

I am also relieved to discover that Yahoo is not tracking me closely, since I got shown an ad for tampons beforehand. I don't think I'll be needing them in the near future...

^The less relevant the ads are to your life, the looser Big Brother's grip.

Yes, I remember the angel creatures from the trailer I saw. What is the reason for have them, because I also don't remember them for the game. It must be a new story line or something.

A hypothesis that I've read is that they're a hallucination caused by the drug Valkyr

Max Payne Movie

It's the only ad playing for me here at school, so It's some sort of important

Mark Wahlberg is starring.

I have no idea if it is faithful at all to the games >_>

Thoughts? Snappy Comebacks?

How the hell do you make a good, faithfully-adapted Max Payne movie with a PG-13 rating?

The only thing you need to know if you are wondering if it is truly faithful to the games:
Rated PG-13 for violence including intense shooting sequences, drug content, some sexuality and brief strong language.

Just saw it today. Pretty good. I never played the games though. How can that movie be rated PG 13?

Max Payne had alot of adult themes, so It's understandable that maybe PG-13 can seem bad sign for it.

Irby if you played the games, you wouldn't be thinking that.

Boy was that film a mess for me.

Oh, and apparently the film was originally rated R and trimmed just enough to get a PG-13 (should have stayed R in my opinion).

EDIT: A few of my beefs with the film:
Spoiler.
  • Instead of being a DEA agent trying to bring down the drug Valkyr (after a couple of junkies killed his wife and kid), Max Payne is now just a rouge detective trying to find his wife's killer (he doesn't even find out about Valkyr until late in the film).
  • Valkyr causes people to have hallucinations of Valkyries, which I believe was totally unecessary
  • Valkyr is apparently now a failed "super sodier" drug, which works on only 1% of the people who take it (and apparently Max was one of them)
    • Hence it's Valkyr that allows Max to do Bullet-time gun fights
I could list these all day, but those were the biggest ones.
