^Because Square is lame wanting to make the games sound more Japanese (even though the way they do it is utter fail). I still think numbers are much better because they explain better. -CSM

Well I don't like the system but I can deal with it, atleast they didn't just keep andding slyibles that to some people sound nonsensical.

I personally like the added "-ara", "-aga" and such. Simply because if I were a living in a fantasy world and had the ability to cast magic, saying things like "Bolt 3" would sound silly. :p

Thundaga just sounds so much more potent. ;)

Got the game a few weeks back, and beat it. I missed many augments, and somehow missed Namingway after he became Campingway. And then I accidentally saved over my file. D: Though, it was with a Clear Game file.

I like the **/a/aga thing over the 1/2/3 thing, but whatever.

I think that Bolt sounds better then thunder because it's an electical attack basied of lightling. while thunder invoke well the roumbling of sound trying to catch up to a light speed projectile. blizzard I don't really mind as said weather can and does freeze people solid I will admit that Arise and reriase are better then Life2 and Life3 though.

I may not like the renaming of it, but I can deal with it not like it really makes a diffrence anyhow.

^Actually, the spell "Blizzard" is a block of ice, not a snowstorm, which is what the name "Blizzard" would imply. And in the early versions of FFIV and FFVI, there were spells called Blizzard and Thunder that more accurately represented what a blizzard and the sound of thunder actually are. -CSM

I was going off the FFVI spells the Thunder/Blot spell were just streams of electricty of verying thickness.(Though Bold two looked the best to me.)

While Ice/ Blizzard was a nice selcalation the first was a pillar of blue/white light, for level two we had the Veagly rock shaped black of ice encase a target, and finaly level three was a column of ice that incased the target.

The spell called Blizzard back on the SNES version9 later renamed snowstorm) was what it said on the tin and was only usible by way of the rage skill. The spells Megavolt and gigivolt (also usible only through rage) looked exactly like the second and thrid level blot spells oddly enough.

Yeah I know I'm waay too much of a FFVI fanboy but it was the first RPG, and FF I ever played so I've always been over enthouseastic about it.

I hate the Red Dragons. Two Thermal Rays and I'm dead. And that's from the one with the Crystal Gloves.

I hate them too. I don't think I actually stood around and fought one.

What level is your party at, CSM?

^Around 75 average. It seems they made the enemies really hard so you can't overlevel in this.

I actually beat him. You need:
Spoiler.
Stuff that halves elemental attacks and Slow and Holt

Spoiler.
Slow is a must, as well as using Rosa to cast-all Blink - then, he can't land any attacks. Silencing him helps too, I believe...

Ew, suck. I'm sorry for you - those definitely help. Anyway, if you make Cecil your tank by adding the Draw Attacks augment (coupled with counter is awesome), just cast Blink on him, and the Red Dragon will focus his attacks on Cecil. Silencing the Dragon makes him rely on physical attacks, so he'll just aim for Cecil.

Spoiler.
That was actually one of the bosses I found harder in the SNES version, but he was still hard. The Four Fiends were much tougher in this, ESPECIALLY Valvalis, with her Lighting counter and Milon with his status attacks. ALL the enemies in the final dungeon are THAT MUCH MORE killer.
