Yes, it's coming! A new Max Payne game. And it sounds like it's gonna be quite good too. I really liked the first Max Payne (except for when those 2 levels when he's walking through the trails of blood. That just pissed me off). Anyway, here's what it says on the official website.
FEATURES INCLUDE:

Storyline - a violent, Film Noir love story between a cop and a femme fatale murder suspect, between Max Payne and Mona Sax. Dark, tragic and intense, the story is a thrill-ride of shocking twists and revelations.

Max Payne's signature slow motion gunplay has been improved on every level. Get ready for Bullet Time 2.0.

New guns and new moves make action more cinematic and intense than ever before.

Fully integrated Havok physics engine allows for interactive environments creating incredible combat scenes. Ragdoll characters and physics in slow motion create breath-taking combat scenes.

All new AI - cooperative NPC's fight with Max and more believable enemies create tension and more interesting and varied challenge.

A stunning level of detail: Extremely detailed environments with photorealistic textures, highly enhanced radiosity lighting and extremely lifelike characters (including facial animations & lip synchronization) provide a visually staggering cinematic experience.

Massive production values - including a motion picture stunt crew, professional talent for voice acting and graphic novels, motion capture and authentic digital source material from New York City.

MANY ADDITIONAL FEATURES TO BE ANNOUNCED
Max Payne 2 will ship with an improved modding toolset in the package, as confirmed by Remedy's Petri Jävilehto. Those who supported the original Max Payne with add-ons such as Kenneth Yeung's Kung Fu mod and TheManCalledZee's N.A.R.C. mod can get to work the day of Max Payne 2's Fall 2003 release.

That's pretty much all I could find on it. It's coming out in Autumn 2003. So what do you think? I'm probably gonna buy it. I'll have to read some reviews first though before I'm sure.

I actually didn't know that it would be Mona in the second game that he falls in love with. Although now that I do, it makes sense.

We're looking at a possible game of the year here. I'm playing through the first Max Payne right now, and I've got to say, it's amazing. Great gameplay, and it has what could be the best storyline I've ever seen in a game. Max Payne 2 looks like it should be an equally good sequel.

I've got mixed feelings on how Max looks in this one, though. At least he no longer constantly looks like he's in pain (no pun intended), but I liked how he looked in the graphic novel from the first Max Payne. He is supposed to be 20 years older in this game, though, so his new appearance may fit the character better after all.
