Umm, anyone seen this new Mega Man rip-off?

Just wondering if anyone here has seen this new anime "Astro Boy". Seems like a complete rip off of Mega Man, with a bit of the X mixed in. Its about a free willed robot that looks like a little boy with black hair. And guess what? He has a buster arm. And a creator who looks like a balder, big nosed Dr. Light, minus the beard. I only saw a bit, but he was fighting a robot in black armor talking about how the humans missused them and such, trying to convince Astro to join him.

^Yes, apparently they remade it. Looks nothing like the old one in many aspects. It's all spiffy now.

So I made a mistake. I never claimed to be an Anime expert. I never heard of Astro Boy before, I saw what looked like a Mega Man ripoff, and I wanted other peoples opinions on it.

Thats the part that reminded me of the X series. And I'm sorry if I haven't got an expert knowledge of Anime. Only ones I've seen are DBZ, Gundam Wing and a couple others.

Saying Astro Boy is a rip-off of Megaman is like saying Ninja Gaiden is a rip off of Onimusha. Yeah, Astro Boy is one of the first things you learn in Anime 101, like Andi says.
