Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is on everyone’s radar. However, the waiting game might be over sooner than we expected. A new rumor suggests the title is headed for a launch on October 1, 2024. The leak emerged from the datamine of Bandai Namco’s official site, which makes it appear quite credible. Additionally, all the previous Budokai Tenkaichi games were also released in the early days of October in Japan, further solidifying the notion.

"According to Bandai Namco official site’s Datamine info, Sparking: ZERO Release Date seems to be October 1st, 2024. Not officially confirmed yet, will update once more information comes!"

All in all, I suggest taking the rumors with a pinch of salt. While datamined info seldom ends up being wrong in the world of gaming rumors, it is still best to wait for an official announcement from the devs. Although, among many reports, a recent rating in Singapore also suggests a 2024 release date—at least, the release window is implied to be this year.

It’s fair to say that Bandai Namco has taken its sweet time to bring the next iteration of Budokai Tenkaichi, which has caused a lot of anticipation since its official announcement. Expect a historic number of playable characters, which will surpass the BT3’s 161 amount. Only 24 characters have currently been revealed who are different variations of Goku and Vegeta. While not the end of the world, the title will also hog a lot of disk space.

For those out of the loop, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is slated to come out on PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X|S consoles. The awaited entry may also lack the much-anticipated local versus modes, according to the information discovered on the game’s Steam and PlayStation store page.
That release date is slightly earlier than I expected, I guess they must not have the confidence for a November release, which is typically crowded. I typically dislike this genre, the "arena fighter" or whatever it's called, but this seems really fun. The graphics are amazing, I just hope we get another 2D Fighting game, and preferably not a 3v3 like Dragon Ball FighterZ but something 1v1 and more Street Fighter-esque.
