Silent Hill: The Short Message

Konami released it for free, so you can download it now.

The story is that a young woman ends up in an apartment complex, and receives strange texts from her sister who is alive, and a girl, now deceased. So sometimes a monster will chase you, forcing you to run to the exit. You look at notes and try to find out what truly happened.

I thought it was a lot like RE7 and 8, with it having the same engine as the "Not a Hero" DLC in RE7.

I heard it was about cyberbullying? Pretty lame and hard to take seriously if it is.

At least it's free, but these recent Silent Hill projects sure have been disappointing. It is all on Silent Hill F now basically.

I watched Under the Mayo's rant video on it, and he said the game just makes up crap so it can link to Silent Hill, or what he called "life support" for the franchise. But it involves none of the reasons for why you would be going through all this in the first place. And he talked about how the fog is a part of people's thoughts or whatever, when it really comes from the nearby Toluca Lake.

Also, it's pointless to have Silent Hill in the game's title these days, as a lot of the storylines now unfold outwith the town. The only connection is monsters and the themes are the same.
