Oh Shadow and Interceptor by far. Definitely the best badass character. I did like Amarant and Auron too just not as much as Shadow.

Sephiroth was stupid.
Kain was the badass in FF4, Edge was just annoying.
Don't like FF8

Magus comes in at a close second I suppose but he just wasn't as cool as Shadow.

^^ I would like to inquire how you came to the conclusion that Sephiroth is stupid. He's powerful, insane, and has a long sword. (I like swords. )

However that doesn't qualify him as the badass type. I'd think that he leans towards the emphatically evil type.

See, Shadow just doesn't have enough personality to beat Magus.
