Especially Beam.22)Hawaii (or Hawai'i, to be correct) - Yeah, people think it'd be THE perfect place to live. It has perfect beaches, sunny days and would b the perfect retreat from the rest of the world. That's a bunch of bullplop. Although, the beaches here ARE good, which is nice but they're usually over crowded with tourists, no matter the time of year. And most of the tourists are old and/or fat. They're usually rude and loud, too.Plus, on top of that, we have people from California and Texas moving up. The bad thing about that is that they're even worse than the tourists, usually. These people ARE the stereotypical Californians and Texans; They're racist (And seeing as there are Hawaiian's here....well, you figure it out) They demands things their way (Some are lawyers. My mom works (or worked) at Hertz Car rental at the nearby Airport. She had encounters with Texan LAWYERS, whom WERE racists, and even beat their wives, because my mom saw ones wife, whom had bruises, cuts and black eyes.)
The Hawaiians themselves aren't so great. They're nice, as long as you can keep your cool, don't rat on them and not fight back. Do that, and they'll be nice, in a bullyish sort of way.
The residents were, black, white, Hawaiian and every other race, usually try to get the new guy into a fight. They usually do this by telling a huge Hawaiian dude (Believe me, they are NOT to be screwed with) that you have been talking shi-erm, crap about them. They'll then soon attack you. Worst form of entertainment. They also asked if I could bring a year book from my old school. I did, let them see it for one class and they WRITE in it. They wrote over some messages my old friends left on there for me and put some rather inappropriate stuff in there. And to them, that was funny to ruin someone's belongings. They never seen me mad until this incident, however. Another thing is that almost everyone is a pothead and/or ice addict. Ice is another name for crystal meth. And because I do neither, I'm considered not cool and not fun. I've said this already, didn't I? I did. Oh well. But nothing sucks more than rejection from almost EVERYBODY.
Plus, land is alot more expensive (It's about 500,000 or half a MILLION dollars for a house) to live here. Electric and gas are about 2-4 times more expensive than Alaska's. The water, however, is unsurprisingly cheaper. Fine by me, but it doesn't quite work well enough. Our bill for a wiring job, which my dad could've done himself if it wasn't illegal, was $6,000. That's right, $6,000. Once again, $6,000. For a simple wiring job. Alaska allows you to do it yourself, as long as it passes inspection. And even if you didn't do it yourself, it cost just about $100-$500 dollars, not 6 grand.
And my parents claim they're HAPPIER now, even though we're always bickering and at each others necks.
After seeing this 50 times, you\'re probably sick of it.

Christ, how old is that rant?
....I should take back the comments about the Hawaiian's, though. That stuff was because I was mainly hanging around the wrong crowd (which was about 80-90% of the whole school.) I've made some new friends that (surprisingly) don't do any of that crap (drugs, bullying, etc.)
What sucks is after Highschool....they're leaving the island. And most of my friends in Alaska have left there as well (one of them signed up into the military. Mainly because of his overly-religous mother wouldn't let him back into his home. :/)
Hawaii is fine for a vacation, but definatly not for living there, seeing as all the sights and such get very boring after a few weeks/months.

^^Houses are about that expensive here, too. And this place isn't even a tourist spot.
Video Gamerz Network boards will be back up shortly after a change of hosting. Thanks for not caring.

Oh yeah? I live in Collierville, TN right outside of Memphis, the average cost of a house in Collierville is $325,000! That is a lot for a town that has NOTHING in it, no attractions, there is nothing to do downtown (anyone that says Beale Street hasn't been in Memphis more than 2 weeks). The average house is also 4500 sq. ft. and they don't have basements (water level).
In comparison to my old house in Lilburn (20-30 miles away from Atlanta) was only 180,000, at the time, the average cost was $210,000, and was 4600 sq.ft. and they had basements.

That's what I wanna say about Florida, too. The snowbirds think we live at the friggin' beach or something. Truth be told, the beach gets old after about a month-- you have more important things to do.Originally posted by Beam Yosho the Drunkard:
