There are better things to be doing than hitting your children. Most of the time, I would only be in trouble for being violent with my brother, anyway.
You children haters are sick.
No one here outright hates children. They just don't want to have to put up with obnoxious kids when the parents have no disdain for being rude and bringing screaming children into public places. Mostly, the parents are at fault for not showing their children how to behave properly.

"Whatever happened to good ol' whuppins? My ass was GRASS if I ever tried to pull anything."

"It suddenly became child abuse to discipline your kid."

In my younger days, my parents would kick my ass if I got out of line. I sure as hell didn't like it, but I deserved whatever I had coming. Anybody who says that disciplining your kid is child abuse is full of crapola. There is quite a difference between beating your kid within a half inch of his life and bringing him down a few pegs by humiliating his ass.

When I was really little I used to get spanked, but after I was about 5 or 6 my parents stopped. Coincidentally, that's also about when I stopped doing the stuff that got me hit.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Exactly. If parents actually carried out their threats ("Johnny, if you don't stop I'm gonna beat your ass!") once or twice, there wouldn't be a problem with little monsters running around.

I don't believe that spanking should be used past a very young age. I believe there is a point when it stops working. When that time comes it's time to take away Johnny's internet, TV, and phone. :D

I only acted really bad in public once.

Once. Because my parents believed in whuppin's. Do you know what will get a child to shut up in a hurry, if they think it's true?

"Be quiet, or when we get home I am going to blister your ass."

Silence.

I think the topic should be "Retarded parents" and not Children.

I agree on all accounts about Parents getting a little more discipline on the menu, and not let their kids run rampant. My mom's a first grade teacher and she feels like she parents the kids more then the parents parent their own kids.

They also use a lot of exclamation marks, each more exclamatory than the last.
