An idea to allow for more people to enter the RPG:
Allow a person to sacrifice a certain amount of XP/stats/etc, and designate a target player.
A set percentage of said sacrificed stats go to that player.
This will allow for easier introducing of new players of the sort that want to play mostly to be playing with friends.
Not sure whether it's implementable with your access level, s1x, but still...
