Worst Disney movies.

Disney might be the #1 name in animation, but even they've made some stinkers in the past.

What are the biggest stains on the Disney Canon?

(Animated feature films only. I say this because animated films are Disney's bread and butter)

Home on the Range & Beverly Hills Chihuahua are pretty widely agreed-upon low points. I'm not a huge fan of The Aristocats either. Johnny Tremain is way too long. The Happiest Millionaire is patently ridiculous. The Big Green was just boring. And let's not even get started on the needless sequels.

[Edit: This post was made before the restriction to animation-only was added.]

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

They're all just really same-y and safe. There are a few exceptions. I liked Moana well enough. I have a soft spot for Aristocats just because it was my favorite movie as a kid. But otherwise they all kinda bore me.

^Same-y? Ever seen Black Cauldron? Atlantis? Fantasia?

Nope, I haven't. I'll check 'em out, though. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Think 'The Rescuers' is really, really bad and trite. I also don't like 'Aristocats', though I concede the music is alright.

There's kind of no reason to watch 'Sleeping Beauty' except to see Maleficent wreck shop. Maleficent is rad.

The first 2 movies flopped at the box office. Black Cauldron in particular is considered among the worst Disney films.

I watched part of Black Cauldron last night. I found Gurgi hard to understand. Not a good thing for a comic relief character.

It just felt more like a wannabe Lord of the Rings movie than a Disney movie.

They flopped because they were so different from the mold. You can't blame Disney for using templates most of the time when people refuse to give the movies that break those templates a chance.

The Black Cauldron had good animation and story (cool adaptation of the Prydain Chronicles) but something about it can make you want to fall asleep. It's not just the lack of songs. It's just. . .I dunno. There needed to be a certain gusto that was missing.

I'm sure there are many live-action Disney movies from the 50's and 60's that are abysmal.

Apparently Mars Needs Moms is officially the worst Disney movie - judging by box office performance. I had heard of it but I didn't even realize it was a Disney movie until I looked it up.

There's a period after the Disney Renaissance when Disney movies became awful. This was when Pixar dominated the animated movie field. I haven't seen them but I wanted to fall asleep just by reading their synopsis - namely Home on the Range.

But I'm sure the worst are probably direct-to-video Disney sequels that nobody asked for or wanted.

Lion King 2 was good when I was a kid, it was direct to video. Maybe that was because I was a kid though.

I've never seen it but from what I understand it's one of the better direct-to-video Disney sequels if not the best

I haven't seen most animated Disney movies that are considered to be the "bad" ones, except **** Brother Bear. It's trash. As far as action movies, all of the Pirates sequels can go to hell.

Also I'm sure they're fine movies and reviews seem to reflect that, but I have no interest in the live action remakes of everything they're doing. I liked Jungle Book, but most of these I have no interest in.

Yeah but Lion King was just lame Macbeth.

Both of the first Pirates sequels were good, IMO. Last was trash though.

Actually, it's primarily Hamlet with a dash of Macbeth in one or two plot elements. Get it together man.

See, it was so lame I forgot what it was supposed to be based on.
