What needed an edgy reboot more than the Cars franchise? Nothing. Literally nothing. This is what we all need and I am definitely taking this 100% seriously.

Ok honestly I can't stop watching this trailer because it's absolutely hilarious to me:

Can they kill Mater too while they're at it?

Okay, I get that Nascar is a big deal & that car toys are easy to sell, but the first Cars was by far the weakest Pixar original film, yet it now has four sequels (the Planes movies count).

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Apparently Cars has the most lucrative movie-based toy franchise of all time after Star Wars. Hope you guys are ready for Cars 7: Journey to Mars.

I think it'll just be as edgy as how the latest SSX was "edgy".

I hate 'Cars'. It's such weak unclever garbage. It's appeal is a mystery to me, and it's Pixar's flagship title. Ugh.

It's gonna be like the first Transformers movie where they just kill off all the main characters to introduce new toys

Only difference is the cars don't transform in this one

^^I just never paid much attention to what the flagship series of Pixar is, nor did I really give a thought to it. But Cars? Really? I always assumed Toy Story had their most recognizable characters. But **** if I know what kids these days are into - I'm 26 going on 27 soon. Kids these days probably don't give a **** about Toy Story and would rather fawn over anthropomorphic cars for some inane reason. My boss has a grandson who is fanatic about cars. Draws them all the time. I want to shake the little **** saying, "You don't know awesome animation!"

John Lasseter and his crew just really like cars. And it also rakes in the profits via merch.

Making stuff for themselves and it's lucrative? hell yeah dawg

You all already got your Inside Out and Finding Dory--it's Pixar's turn to indulge.

When I think 'flagship franchise' I think the entity a company has poured most of itself into. 'Toy Story' has three movies (plus a potentially unrelated TV show) spread out over twenty years. 'Cars' is at this moment only ten years old, and is heading into its fourth sequel, not to mention all them garbagey "Mater's Tall Tales" short subjects (ugh, I hate Mater).

...have I mentioned how much I despise Larry the Cable Guy, incidentally? I feel this is a fresh subject. Every time someone refers to him as 'blue-collar comedy' I want to f*ckin puke. Because I'm blue-collar, and I'm not a goddamn moron.

Larry the Cable Guy is about as funny as a crutch. He sucks and I hate his filthy guts. Ugh.

Yeah, when I think "flagship" for Pixar, I think of Toy Story. Maybe a case could be made for Luxo Jr, since it's on their logo.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Incidentally, I'm salty about Toy Story as well. Namely that Toy Story 3 won the oscar HTTYD deserved on its merit of very successfully appealing to nostalgia from an established franchise rather than being the best-told standalone movie. And the fact that apparently even though the story has been more than wrapped up after capitalizing on the feels of people who grew up watching it, Toy Story evidently needs another goddamn sequel.

^I'm pretty sure Pixar themselves are kinda frustrated about doing Toy Story 4 also.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Pixar should try doing a sequel to one of their good movies some time. (Oh wait, it'd be asinine to do a sequel to 'Up' or 'Wall-E', or 'Brave', or 'Inside Out'.) (Of course, I think it's asinine they're doing an 'Incredibles' sequel, so like what do I know.)

Feh. Watch--------bet I get roped into taking the kids to see it next summer when they come home to visit. I only thought the first two movies and the Satan's Tall Tales series were absolute wank, like why wouldn't I have to sit through the third. (Lord. It's going to be five tickets, this time---------Emmy'll be nearly two, I won't be able to justify not bringing her along, the little tarantula.)
