Looks like it's due for release in August. I'm really looking forward to this.
((I also really like the teaser poster art? All posing in front of the ocean with the moon and ****. Way cool points for you Kubo.)
e: I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that a film set in ancient Japan is voiced by largely white actors.... what else is new...... BUT HEYYY GEORGE TAKEI IS IN IT SO there's that at least.
Visually and story wise and basically everything else wise, from what I have seen so far I am SO here for this.

NEW TRAILER, NEW ME
I saw this in the previews in theaters before Finding Dory, and as much as Finding Dory was a good movie, this trailer was probably still the cinematic highlight of that evening for me. I am SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE IT LOOKS LIKE 9000000% MY S***..

YOU GUYS I AM SO EMOTIONAL ABOUT THIS MOVIE PLEASE DROP WVWRYTHING AMD WATCH IT RIGHT NOW AND ALSO INVITE ME SO I CAN WATCH IT AGAIN BECAUSE I AM IN LOVE
First of all, the movie already won me over because I have a soft spot for half characters (half human half whatever), and I ALSO have a soft spot for the one eye or mismatched eye trope. I ALSO have a soft spot for coming of age stories. So. Like. I was already in love from the **** beginning.
Also the SOUNDTRACK AND MUSIC IS SO GOOD!!!!!! I love music as a source of magic in fantasy and it. Is. Used. So. Well. The shamisen solos are SO GOOD. I WAS ROCKING OUT IN MY SEAT THE WHOLE TIME, DUDE. BRO. BRUH. HOMIE.
The two main ~plot twists~ are pretty predictable but IMO they're not really the point of the movie. They're more of a surprise to Kubo than anyone watching the movie; in fact I want to re watch it confirming my suspicions about them because I think it'll reveal a lot more interesting character development.
I LOVE THE SYMBOLS IN THIS MOVIE!!!!!! I LOVE THE MEANING OF "TWO STRINGS"!!!!!!!!! I LOVE I LOVE I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and the credits are beautiful. But not as beautiful as THE REST OF THE MOVIE GODDAMN, HOW EVEN. THIS **** WAS STOP MOTION CLAYMATION. HOW DID THEY MAKE THIS **** SO BREATHTAKING. The scene with the river and the aunts comes to mind, as does the dream with the grandfather, and kubo's performance. And the rest of the movie.
I'm in love. Kubo is my son. I love him. I'm. God damn
