Seems alright. Hopefully it keeps the comedy style and practical action and corniness but it looks like they're shoehorning tons of CGI, romance, and that "dark/edgy" type of seriousness. Doesn't seem fun is what I am saying. Good, but not fun. Oh, and seems to be no Will Smith. Probably his son or something, daddy always hooks him up with roles. Must be his birthday (kid ain't a good actor).

Or is it just me?

Not exactly ripe for a sequel, IMO. The best part of Independence Day was the Battle of Katina.

^I've been meaning to make a Youtube video editing the score of Independence Day with the Katina battle. All I did so far was the final battle with Andross and the end credits.

I'm really going to miss Will Smith on this one. His character is most definitely dead - they officially revealed it:

The good news is, it's not Jaden Smith playing Dylan.
The bad news is, it's not the kid from the first movie playing Dylan either.

Although I feel like it kind of gives the aliens the last laugh. Like when he was all like "Welcome to Earth" now the ghost of that alien is like "haha dumbass"

Is Will Smith still around? The only time I ever see him, he's either pimping his son who nobody cares about or getting shown up by Carlton.

^ He's in the upcoming Concussion movie and was in a movie a few months back that nobody cared about called Focus. I'm pretty sure he's doing Bad Boys 3 next year.
