C/D If MMBN were made into a movie, some names would need to be changed.

You may have already heard about me making fan made movies and stuff in Anim8or. I'm gonna try making Mega Man Battle Network into a movie. Kinda as practice.

As with most of the other stuff I have planned, gonna try to go Christopher Nolan on this. I'll try to stay true to the games, but I want it to take itself seriously.

For that, you think I should change some of the names? Like Mr. Match or Count Zap. Or the names of the nations. Like Netfrica, Choina or Yumland.

I'm a big fan of the games, but sometimes it seems like the series treats itself like a bad joke. >_>

MMBN should never take itself too seriously.

Straight up changing things is not good. Perhaps tweaking things a bit, or at most, re-imagining, to a minimal extent, could be tolerable.

For example, explore the Japanese names, and see if they're more preferable. If you think calling Mega Man by his Japanese name, Rock Man, would help, then do that.

... *looks up the Japanese names*

Netfrica : Affrik
Yumland : Ajina
Mr. Match : Hino Ken'ichi
Count Zap : Ereki Hakushaku

Yeah, that could work. Thanks.

The translated puns were pretty literal, for the record. Japanese is big on those.

Changing names to be more serious tends to be a trademark of those DARK AND EDGY LIVE ACTION REIMAGINATIONS that are all terrible, so I'd say to go with the feel of the source material and legitimize what you have via content rather than trying to make it seem more legitimate by making it Sound Serious.

Dem japanese puns doe

Actually, I guess Mr. Match could work as a nickname.
