Yeah, kerning is dodgy on some fonts. It doesn't take a lot of looking to notice when a font's a bit off, unfortunately.
Like the colors on that last one. As a general tip, if you want to draw a perfectly straight line with the brush tool in PS, hold shift and it'll go either perfectly horizontal or vertical. There's sort of a bug that'll stretch a line out to the next point you put down using that, though, so to circumvent that error just put down a spot somewhere out of frame before you do a second one, if it's not connected to the end of your previous line. You'll see what I mean if you use it.
