I want to start watching Doctor Who. What would be a good series to watch for someone new to the series?

Yeah, Series 1 Episode 1 of the 2005 reboot is a good place to start. You'll be starting with the 9th Doctor, but the 2005 reboot is specifically designed so that you can jump in with no context. The previous 8 Doctors still exist, but they are not important to understanding anything that happens in the New series.

Basically, if you go to Netflix and search Doctor Who, it will be the main option. There is some "Classic Doctor Who" on there, but I'd only watch that after establishing a good understanding of the new series.

I would say the same and start with the first episode with the 9th Doctor.

One of the first episodes I saw was the first one with Martha. That was a cool season.

Start of Eccleston!!!

You seriously can't go back to 9 if you start with 10 or 11 because the effects are so terrible and it's so cheesy, but Eccleston is great so you really can't skip him, it's not an ok thing to do
