Finally, this is a thing. I think it premiered last night, but I'm catching the encore right now.

I love it! Like, it's obvious the lead girls are inexperienced (they'll obvs get better) but they aren't campy like every other teen show on right now. This is a MAJOR plus. Farkle is hilarious, so's Auggie, and Lucas totally looks like Jack Gleeson.

The adults, of course, still got it, but sometimes Cory makes me cringe when he does crazy parent stuff a la Damon Wayans in My Wife and Kids (though maybe not on that level, exactly).

Overall though I'm really happy with the direction the show's gone, it's still got that great feel BMW had, and I'm gonna do my best to keep up! <3

Is Ben Savage still doing his elderly-Yiddish-man thing that he did in the last couple seasons of the original show?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Little bit. That may be where the Wayans vibes are coming from actually!

Boy Meets World is one of my favorite shows ever, and this is basically that show reincarnated. The important caveat to that is that one of the reasons BMW was so successful is that the characters were allowed to grow up. It started off as a cute family show, which I suppose is necessary for the middle school years, but then suddenly everybody skipped multiple grades and went mad. I'm not sure how much room Disney will give the characters to grow, both because it's a more family friendly channel than ABC but also because it tends to cancel shows in 3 or 4 years. Short of a spinoff, it won't be hitting 7 seasons. Of course, no matter how much the characters grow, the parents (or at least Cory) still must remain an integral part to tie the two together.

I hadn't noticed that Farkle was a Minkus.
