Produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by Jorge Gutierrez. HNNNNG, it's like they're making a movie just for Val to enjoy.

This looks really neat.

...on an unrelated note, I feel the sudden urge to go replay 'Grim Fandango' (though I may have to settle for watching a longplay somewhere-----haven't seen hide nor hair of my copy for years).

Oh man. Visually and conceptually I really want to be excited for this but I'm skeptical just because the music selection in this preview sounds so... blockbuster generic? Like come on y'all couldn't even have some badass mariachi influenced **** or somethin

Then again. I have learned that judging based on trailers is not bueno. So when this comes out ill see if ppl recommend it

But for something that seems to boast basing itself on a Mexican cultural aesthetic the soundtrack here sounds pathetically trailer generic

I'm being elitist sorry lmao

why don't you take your filthy snobbery and go back to your own FORUM

I'd imagine there'll be loads of mariachi-infused flavour music, at the very least (GF had plenty of that, too). Possibly they were looking to make the trailer music as broad-spectrum-appealing as possible-----like, that's the beast, innit.

Yeah I stopped really letting my thoughts on trailers affect my opinions on upcoming movies I'm interested in.

Who puts together the trailers? I was always under the impression it's the marketing team of the production company, not the creative team (directors/producers), so I wouldn't put much stock into that.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's the former too. Like I dunno why the creative team behind Tangled/Frozen would want their movies as misrepresented as the trailers for those movies.

HTTYD's trailer made me not want to see it so I take everything back I should really really not judge

i reiterate aesthetically and conceptually this does look great[DOUBLEPOST=1401843481,1401843397][/DOUBLEPOST]dp: also the fact that it is not the creative team that does trailers is something I never thought about but makes so so so much sense that explains so much
