I just got back from seeing the new Captain America film and I think it's really enjoyable. I really like how they turned it into more of a team film with Falcon and Black Widow instead of a solo Cap movie. Though if given the option between 3D and 2D just go 2D because I could barely tell it was there (unlike the 3D in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer which looked FANTASTIC.

[spoiler]Though I have to wonder, with the aftermath of this movie... what happens to the Agents of SHIELD show? (Maybe they've been addressing it. I haven't watched it very much)[/spoiler]

[spoiler]This movie literally takes place between last Tuesday's episode & this Tuesday's episode. Coulson's team just figured out that "The Clairvoyant", who's been running the organization they've been investigating all season long, has to be a high-clearance SHIELD agent (though they haven't found the HYDRA connection yet). Then their plane gets remotely-hijacked by said agent, who turns out to be the obstructive superior that's butted heads with the team a few times already.
Also, last week's ep sent Sitwell to the boat that Cap rescues at the beginning of the movie.[/spoiler]

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

The first sucked so bad I am scared to watch this.

I don't blame you. The first one was bad.

I enjoyed the second one. A very solid movie. I don't know what it is, but I think less CGI was used in this movie than other Marvel movies.

[spoiler]When Fury died, I was thinking: "Seriously? If Coulson could be revived, Fury could be too". And look what happened...[/spoiler]

I liked it. I felt like I was missing out on some details because I don't watch the show.

^You weren't. The show & films (plural; Thor 2 also syncs with the show) are deliberately written to function independently of one another.

It actually intentionally borrowed a scene or two from famous WWII films. I really enjoyed it, even though the pacing could've used some work. There was nothing offensively bad or wrong about how it was handled, and it had a lot of positive attributes.

I just don't like most Marvel movies, so don't worry about my opinion. The original Spider-Man trilogy's the only ones I enjoyed a lot. Others were range from meh to bad, IMO.

the words "political thriller" made me think something else about it but this movie was basically a no nonsense action movie, it didnt throw in anything too crazy and was pretty great. the fighting was really fun too

I thought the first Captain America was a really fun WWII throwback movie kind of like The Rocketeer. (which makes sense because it was directed by the same dude who directed Rocketeer)

I really enjoyed the first movie, and I've heard nothing but good things about this one. Looks like I'll be making a trip to see it this weekend.

The first movie was just "eh" to me. Maybe I was burnt out from superhero movies at the time. I still kind of am. I want to go see this, but at the same time, I really, really don't. I don't think I could watch another superhero movie if I tried. It's just gotten ridiculous. And that's coming from a big comic book nerd. *shrug*

^^I'd put the Thor movies up higher on the list. I really love Loki and the visuals.

I really like Loki and like everything in Asgard but I don't vibe with the whole Thor/Natalie Portman thing too much.

Captain America is a pretty standard hero - no magic, no weapons... So yeah, I like him.

^^ I would put Thor higher on the list too. Iron Man is alright, but the third movie was kind of ridiculous.

The last fight in the third movie was ridiculous but I loved almost everything else about the third movie. I really enjoyed how it focused more on Tony Stark himself than on Iron Man. I also thought the dialogue was really well written.

I really thought the first one was OK. I thought that there were some good moments but then the rest of the movie just sort of seemed to ‘drag along’. Not exactly great to watch. However, I have heard from a number of different people that the new Captain America is much better.

The only superhero movie I am looking forward to is Superman VS Batman which is supposedly happening. It may lead to more "VS" films, which there needs to be.

I didn't think the first Cap movie was bad, just not as memorable to me. It did a good job setting up Cap's character and integrity.
The second Cap movie was really fun though, and one of the best Marvel movies to date. I felt Falcon's involvement was kinda weak, but I liked the character and hope we see more (maybe get him a bit more power). And the action was done really well by all parties.

I personally put the Iron Man films higher than the Thor films, but that's just me because I enjoy his humor and prefer technological power/sci-fi to magic/fantasy. I'll admit that Loki is better than all the Iron Man villains though.

The character of Tony Stark is just so much more interesting to me than Thor is. Robert Downey Jr. is probably the best casting choice in the entire Avengers universe (not to say the others aren't bad, RDJ just nails the part). The performance and dialogue (and some of the action) is enough for Iron Man 3 to rise above its faults (I think Shane Black was an awesome choice for director/writer) and make it better than The Incredible Hulk (which was just... eh) and the Thor films in my opinion. However, Iron Man 2 is still the black sheep of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Like, I've seen the movie at least three times and I could not tell you what the plot is past "Mickey Rourke is Whiplash and Tony Stark gets drunk and breaks ****"

Though who cares about the other movies when Guardians of the Galaxy is coming soon and that will be better than everything else. Also Ant-Man is probably gonna **** rock too.

Saw it. Best film, no obvious flaws and real action shots.
