The Boondocks, the award-winning animated series returns for its final season on Monday, April 21 at 10:30p.m (ET/PT) on Adult Swim. The Boondocks is produced by Sony Pictures Television. This season was produced without the involvement of Aaron McGruder, when a mutually agreeable production schedule could not be determined.

Can't wait. Wonder what it'll be like without McGruder, though.

You know, I've never watched a single episode of this series. I assume it's rather akin to the comic. Maybe I should check it out some time.
Always nice to see fans get another helping of something they like, at any rate.

My expectations dropped significantly when I saw that McGruder isn't involved. Still, I'll be watching.

It's like the comic, but focuses more on social commentary than political. Also, no Caesar.

I don't know what this show's gonna be like without McGruber but I'll watch nonetheless.
If anybody's interested in what Aaron's been doing lately apparently he's working on a show called Black Jesus.

I watched the series but never understood if I was watching something racist against blacks or if it was something targeted at blacks I didn't get, like rap. Either way, I wasn't a big fan but it had its moments, like the Carlton-guy who was super afraid of prison rape, and any time the black, white supremacist would show up.
I may eventually watch this.

^ The Boondocks would best be described as hard social satire. It's mostly targeted at black audiences, but probably less than the comics were.

I really wish they would have put Caesar in the show. Huey was a much more entertaining character in the comic with Caesar was around to balance him out.

Yeah, the whole series is based on a newspaper comic. Did you actually not know that?
