Cartoon Network is adding a little sugar, spice and everything nice back to its lineup — for one night, at least.

The cabler has slated a new “Powerpuff Girls” special for January, one that will reunite the original voice cast Catherine Cavadini, Tara Strong, E.G. Daily, Roger L. Jackson, Tom Kane and Tom Kenny.

Ringo Starr is also joining the cast for the special — he voices Fibonacci Sequins, Townsville’s most famous flamboyant mathematician, in a special guest appearance. Starr also performs an original music vid and song for the program titled “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.”

Dubbed “Dance Pantsed,” spesh follows Mojo Jojo as he kidnaps a mathematician, an opera singer and a badger to steal Chemical X and take over Townsville. But when the Powerpuff Girls thwart his plan, he invents an evil video game called “Dance Pants R-EVILution” to control their minds and bodies to fulfill his evil plot.

Special will debut Monday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m., and be preceded by a 10-episode “Powerpuff Girls” marathon the day before.

“The Powerpuff Girls” debuted on Cartoon Network in 1998 and ended its run in 2005. Series is created by Craig McCracken.

Reminds me of that episode where Mojo Jojo stole the Anubis and turned everyone into dogs.

There were two episodes where he did that, funnily enough.

I would say "they look scary," but they looked scary before too, so nevermind

That said, I will definitely watch this, for no reason other than it is going to exist

They look older.

Ringo's songs are not that exciting. Some of them are nice. I hope this one's good.

Wow. Their arms are growing out of their heads now.

I mean, I like the new design all right, but...their arms are growing out of their heads now.

I personally would love to have PPG rebooted and for them to be older than kindergarten. But... this will do for now.

Their arms used to sprout from their torsos. Sometimes they'd do the Spongebob disembodied arm thing to cheat perspective, but they never appeared to grow directly out of the heads.

Maybe this is a natural concession to making the head:body ratio even more ridiculous than it was in the original show. Used to be 4:5 or so---now it's at least 2:1. Superman wouldn't be able to do that cool guy fist-outstretched flight pose if his head were the size of a two-car garage.

Huh, I didn't even notice the whole "arms growing out of head" thing at first.

They don't have arms. Those are just tumors.
