Ah, Rugrats. One of the first, and most well known Nicktoons. But the reason I like this show isn't purely for nostalgic purposes. One of Rugrats's greatest strengths was its willingness to show different cultures. How many shows, let alone a CHILDREN'S CARTOON, can brag that they've had specials for Christmas, Hanukkah, Passover, AND Kwanzaa? And it's not just in the holiday specials, either. There was one episode where Tommy and Chuckie go to a wedding, and search for cake. In that episode, one scene shows a Zen wedding, or a Buddhist wedding, I'm not sure. Another episode shows Chuckie and Phil running through some kind of festival, and we see many different cultures there, including a sumo wrestling match.
So, Rugrats exposed many children to all kinds of different cultures.

Yeah I remember Rugrats, it was pretty multicultural for a children's cartoon I agree.

Why didn't the main kid ever get his wrench taken away?

Because the child rearing book did not mention that.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Apparently the creators of the show are huge Dr. Who fans. Makes sense...a kid leading his companions on crazy adventures of the imagination sporting his "screwdriver." I'd like to think that Phil and Lil are Donna. Also, they showed
this in a toy store behind Chuckie. Some people say they even saw an episode that had the alien spaceship from the Dr. Who "War of Worlds" episode in one of the Rugrats episodes. This is part of why I LOVE this show.

Yeah, Rugrats was okay. It's been years since I've seen an episode. I don't think anyone knows what they were smoking with All Grown Up.

I only care for the first couple seasons since that was when it was cool. :colbert: Also the only cartoon aimed for children that had an assisted suicide joke.

I was a big fan of Rugrats. I still like it quite a bit.
I know a bunch of people whose parents wouldn't let them watch it as a kid. I'm still not exactly sure why on that one.

They made more money, which is what they really care about.
