Anyone watch this show? It's essentially a watered-down Robot Chicken, because it consists of 2-5 minute sketches that make fun of pop culture.
See, the problem with basing a show's humor on pop culture is that the jokes will inevitably become dated after a year or so.

And yet it's been going for 60 years now.

Mad Magazine is supposed to be satirical. This is about the TV show that's based on the magazine.

While this sketch
is somewhat clever, how many of the target audience (8-10 year olds) would even know what Les Miserables is, never mind know if it's being parodied?

I mean, there was that movie of Les Mis just this past winter, I think kids would get it, even if the joke's just "Lol, Catwoman and Wolverine singing!" (I haven't seen an episode referencing the movie/play/book/etc., so forgive me if that's not the gag they use.)
I've watched it a few times. It's extremely hit or miss. It's better than Johnny Test at least. I never watch it while eating though; too many gross gags.

I think it's good if shows like this shoot outside the reference kiddie pool every once in a while. I pretty much watched Back To The Future solely on the basis it was parodied in a FOP episode.

I mean, how would they know that the song in the video is a parody of "One Day More" from Les Mis.

I didn't know there was a BttF reference in FOP. I probably just don't remember it. DZ makes an excellent point though.
That kind of bit is probably more targeted at the older people watching, like the parents sitting and watching it with their children. Shows do that all the time.

I remember there was an episode of Hey Arnold that parodied 12 Angry Men.

I haven't watched Les Mis. So there. :3
I don't need to get every reference from a movie in a show or my head would explode.
