^ i did too but moonrise kingdom was probably tbe best movie i saw period, while ted wasnt even the best raunchy comedy of 2012.

Dinsey pixar shorts are actually usually on there, though they oftentimes dont win. I was more surprised by the simpsons short showing up.

Jennifer lawrence actually got nominated like two years ago for Winters Bone, if memory serves.

I'd say genius. If not for The Master (which comes far closer to being "pretentious," though I'd argue even more for genius on that film's part), Cloud Atlas would easily be my favorite film of the year. Seriously. The Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer took an "unfilmable" novel and made a fantastic film out of it.

Too bad Tran Anh Hung wasn't able to do the same with Norwegian Wood...
