Psh. LucasFilm, Disney or no, could have made another Star Wars film that's the best thing ever made. And people would still call it "****" because it's not their Star Wars.
If there's any Lucas-owned Franchise that should be turned into a movie? It's Loom. Eff Monkey Island...Loom would make the transition to film over VERY well. If there was any franchise that has "Wasted potential" written on it (Apart from Shenmune and Torin's Passage), it's Loom.

^Ummm, excuse me? I'm so, so easy to please. All I need is basic competence in plot and structure (maybe a hair less interminable Jedi horsesh*t, but that's negotiable). Are you prepared to claim the prequels had this? I'll bite your face off.
Could Disney possibly mishandle the franchise more terribly than Lucas himself has?
I say godspeed, Disney. Make us good Star Wars movies like Lucas apparently can't no more. Redeem this hurtin franchise---make a sequel trilogy (hell, a single good sequel flick) that will literally flatten our balls. We need this.

Honestly I don't expect much out of them making anything Star Wars related either. The shoes are way too big to fill.Booyakasha wrote:^Ummm, excuse me? I'm so, so easy to please. But maybe I'm both. IN terms of nostalgia...my experience with Star Wars was always with KOTOR and stuff like Dark Forces and the Expanded Universe. I seriously have not even seen the star wars movies until 2004.
Hamill can most definitely voice act, but even then, Star Wars suffers heavily from what I call "Sonic Syndrome". :/ everyone wants something different...doesn't matter what they do, it's gonna be criticized for some aspect.Booyakasha wrote:^They can still voice-act, can't they? CGI this bitch. Hell, see about getting Pixar on-board---get the best damn people you can. (Leave Randy Newman behind.)

Like, I know Cars is a big property, but it sure as hell isn't Star Wars big...

'Cars 3', 'Finding Nemo 2', 'Toy Story 4--The Reentoyening', heaven-help-us 'Bug's Life 0---Larval Days'...it stands to reason that, if Pixar's got six projects knockin about the joint, one of them is probably some soulless cash-grab sequel that they can let simmer on a back-burner for a while if something more lucrative happens along.

Wow. Just now learned that Steve Purcell (aka the genius behind Sam and Max) is now affiliated with Pixar (worked on 'Cars' and 'Ratatouille' and got a co-director/story credit for 'Brave'). It'd be pretty screwy if his career led all the way (by tortuously-branching paths) from creating comics for Lucasarts...to some credit on the next Star Wars production.
All sheer speculation, of course.
(EDIT---Wait, woah. Is Disney buying all of Lucas' biz? Like, Lucasfilm, LucasArts, ILM, Skywalker Sound, THX---the whole ball of wax?
Because that would be huge.)
