SO THE DRAGON TV SERIES

IT WILL PROBABLY DESTROY EVERYTHING I KNOW AND LOVE BUT I WILL STILL RELIGIOUSLY WATCH EVERY EPISODE

One thing I thought was awesome was that Alvin the Treacherous, the villain of the books who isn't in the movies, will be a villain in the TV show. That makes me happy.

That show is pretty decent, from what I've seen.

Yeah but here's the thing I don't want it to be decent I want it to be of quality up to par with the movie

I want it to retain HTTYD quality and not descend into kind of meh average Dreamworks quality

Yeah and someone that Considers Dragons Her babies are probably not the best person to mess with, a minor police squad would probably only be concidered a regular morning experience

So, my thoughts so far--

I WILL WATCH EVERY SINGLE EPISODE WHILST HUGGING ALL OF MY STUFFED DRAGONS AND CRYING AND COUNTING DOWN TO THE RELEASE DATE OF THE SEQUEL IN 2014

Plot, charm, humor, cuteness, and overall feeling-wise, I think the series will probably be about on par with the Gift of the Night Fury short. It is not up-to-par-with-the-movie quality but considering they are making an episodic series, I can forgive that. It's a bit slapstick and predictable, but it IS charming. And dragons. There are definitely dragons.

So like it's very cute, not movie quality but very cute, and there are dragons so THE CL IS APPEASED FOR THE TIME BEING.

And honestly it's giving me faith that if this series retains its cute with a new episode every however-often, then the next movie--which they will have been working on for FOUR SOLID YEARS, and not as a cop out sequel but as a build up to a trilogy finale they've been planning--CAN BE AWESOME.

So like

I have dragons

I will still re-watch the movie every five seconds because the movie is perfection

But the series looks to be great, even if it is not perfection

I DON'T WATCH CRAP

SOMEONE MIGHT NOT HAVE ACCES TO THE EPISODES!

No offense to anybody, but my sense of justice completely prevents me from considering anything 100% CGI to be a cartoon. Show could be cool, although I really kind of require totally unexpected crap (Adventure Time, ATHF, Sealab) for entertainment or a well-thought out plot arc ala Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, etc.

Four years? Doesnt that just mean its stuck in development hell?
