For those of you with little knowledge of TV shows from before you were born (or TV shows from the US), Griffith was best known as the star of "The Andy Griffith Show" & "Matlock", and as one of only two actors in Spy Hard who didn't suck (the other being the late Leslie Nielsen). In addition to acting, Griffith was a comedian, writer, & singer. He'd worked more-or-less continuously up until 2009, probably stopping (but never officially retiring!) due to the undisclosed illness which finally took his life yesterday.

And remember, "Well, now take down your fishin' pole & meet me at the fishin' hole..."

I remember watching reruns of The Andy Griffith Show with my Dad on TV Land. :(
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

Aw..my grandfather really likes The Andy Griffith show, we've watched it together before.
