Five years after the last Spider-Man movie, they decided that it was time for a darker and edgier reboot of the popular superhero franchise. Not that most audiences will be complaining.

I hope the new movie is ballsy enough to include something like this classic sequence.

I'm really excited about it, personally. It's something new, hopefully.

I'm really hoping [spoiler]Connors knowing where Peter's parents are & the spider-bite being engineered instead of accidental[/spoiler] from the trailers is all just a big hoax, because that's a really stupid plot.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Wasn't the 00's series dark and edgy enough?

Regardless, I do plan to see this at some point, even if it's not in theaters.

Saw it earlier this evening, I was pretty damn impressed with it.

[spoiler]Aunt May is really well written for it, she's younger than the previous films. What I can see will be a bit of a debate for fans is whether she figures out Peter is Spiderman. In my opinion she does, it is hinted it but in certain conversations she acts like she doesn't know though and never directly asks Peter. I'd theorise that she doesn't let on she knows to him out of trust and faith that he's doing the greater good.[/spoiler]

Still, I'm glad there is no awful dialogue referring to "angels".

I'm quite excited about this and am looking forward to seeing it...

I really enjoyed it. Not a perfect film, but a very enjoyable one despite the Lizard being overdone and an [spoiler]overuse of showing off Peter's new powers by destroying everything.[/spoiler] Andrew Garfield does a lot better of a job playing Peter Parker than Tobey McGuire did, still being able to bring some awkwardness to the character but not making you uncomfortable watching him.

[spoiler]Screw that 3D, there was barely any.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]I really, really loved Uncle Ben.[/spoiler]

Apparently the whole movie got cut to pieces a couple of months ago. They removed the Ang Lee Spiderman approach entirely.

I went to see this today, and despite some issues regarding patrons of the theater, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Andrew Garfield is a really good Peter Parker (I'd say much better than Tobey Maguire) and Emma Stone is the most perfect woman (okay, maybe that's Zooey Deschanel. Or maybe Emma Watson. I'm not really sure yet). I was really iffy on the movie because:

1. I'm not sure how Andrew Garfield would be in an action role, as brilliant as he was in The Social Network
2. I'm not sure how Marc Webb would do directing an action role, as brilliant as (500) Days of Summer was
3. Spider-Man came out 10 years ago

But I was overall impressed. 3D was iffy, though that's because a good chunk of the film was origin story and there's not really too much they could've done with the 3D at those points. Web-slinging looked dope in 3D, though. Except the last shot of the movie made me groan a lil' bit.

[spoiler]Who do y'all think that was talking to Connors at the end of the film? I'm thinking just because of the fact that he mysteriously appeared and disappeared it may be a hint of the Chameleon. Though obviously the movie also hints at Norman Osborn too.[/spoiler]

I haven't seen the movie, but I do love the new Spoiler tags.

The movie was pretty [strike]amazing[/strike] fantastic. I'd definitely suggest taking a look, especially if you're a fan of Superhero movies.

Panny, that was clearly [spoiler]Osborn. I mean, that voice! And that foreshadowing![/spoiler]

I am really glad that [spoiler]none of the stupid crap hinted at in the trailers[/spoiler] was in the movie. And that somebody else I know's spoiler that [spoiler]Stan Lee wasn't in it[/spoiler] turned out not to be true also. I think Garfield was a much better Spidey than Maguire was, but not as good of a Peter Parker. And my goodness, Emma Stone is [strike]gorgeous[/strike] [strike]beautiful[/strike] [strike]breathtaking[/strike] [strike]supermegafoxyawesomehot[/strike] able to actually make me give a crap about Gwen Stacy, unlike Bryce Howard.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I saw this film, absolutely loved it. I wasn't too sure about Andrew to begin with, but he turned out to be fantastic. I can't wait to see the sequel.
