The Newest Pokemon Anime Sucks Even Worse

So, yeah. I'm sure we can agree that the Diamond and Pearl anime was pretty bad, but then I saw the Black and White one. Team Rocket now has abandoned their motto, and are hardcore criminals rather than the humourous characters they once were. Brock is gone, with an awful replacement. This is awful, did Cartoon Network just decided to take out two of the best things that the Pokemon anime still had? Why?

(The company who isn't) Cartoon Network likes to keep the good things for themselves and give the scraps to the viewers.

Cartoon Network is just the carrier, they don't actually create the show or write the dubs.

Team Rocket is the only good part of the new season.

This is a good thing. Why are you complaining about this?

Team Rocket isn't as annoying. You don't have Brock being annoying. You have something that actually breaks the mold. This series is pretty good.

It's a reboot

Ash is clueless/over excited again.
Iris = More annoying/less competent 1st season Misty
Cilan = Brock minus Nurse Joy chasing
Trip = Mix between 1st season Gary and Paul

Team Rocket is the only part of the show that isn't the same as season one, which is strange because they have been up until now.

Ash has started turning his hat around again. They even have the exact pose when he first catches a pokmon.

In the first episode the narrator says that Ash is 10 years old, again.

Don't tell me he has been 10 this whole time because there have been multiple references to years having passed since the beginning, the episode Cerulean Blues comes to mind.

I just wish if they were doing a reboot of the show that they would've started completely fresh with a new main charcter and everything.

Are you sure it's a reboot?

B/W is so much better than D/P, in my opinion. But there's no way that he's 10.

I never thought he was 10 to begin with.

I consider it a sequel series, and the "he's 10" thing just stupid and non-canon.

We know he's atleast a teenager.

And about the only thing I don't like is how the background music is just midis of the game music, instead of fully orchestrated.

Otherwise, this is tens times better than D/P. Although Iris is a bit annoying, being a blatant expy of Misty.(and more blatant if you know the games)

I think the new series is pretty well done, it feels different and not a way for them to just throw things out that say "buy our games".

Iris used to annoy the living **** out of me with the "such a kid" comments, but that's calmed down. Cilan's cooking references make me want to punch a baby.

Tone it down a bit, but if they keep this pace it can be a decent series, does remind me of the older episodes a bit. There's a reason they did a reboot: find me people my age who actually watched the 1st season that still watch it now? Hell, I barely watch it myself and wouldn't have known anything about it if I wasn't working early Saturday mornings and happened to run across it on the premiere.

^ I won't. I mean, not too much. There is the whole nostalgia factor since I watched it a lot when I was little, but still...

I said this already but, I wish they had gone with a complete reboot and started with a new main character. Then I would have no problems with the new series.

Ok I'd still hate Iris, but I'd probably hate her a lot less.

There really isn't a situation in which Iris is likeable, anyway.

Everytime she says "you're such a Kid" I want Ash to cite all of his badges and every other achievment he has gotten (Frontier Brain offer anyone) and then ask her what she has to show.

It doesn't help Iris's position that, so far, she hasn't shown to be a competent trainer at all. While even current "dumbed down" Ash can still win gym badges.

I think the point everyone's missing is that Ash is still a cash cow. Completely resetting is TOO much of a risk.

I'm sure they'll end up leveling Iris out, because her now compared to the beginning is mellow.
