need new shows to watch
I finished my run-through of Scrubs (well, I skipped the last season because it wasn't really as much Scrubs as it was a shell of a show that I once loved :( ) so I'm in need of a new TV show to run-through in my free time.
Criteria:
Good
Available on DVD/Netflix
Preferably ended (though it doesn't need to be)
I'm looking for something kind of in the same vein as Firefly, as it was one of the first shows I ran through, and probably my favorite so far. Naturally, I've turned to Buffy/Angel due to Whedon, but in like a month I'll need stuff to replace those anyway. It doesn't have to be a huge time-waster like Buffy, Lost, and Scrubs were. It could be shorter too like a Firefly or a Death Note.
And naturally, since I mentioned Death Note, animation applies to this as well.

Ummmm Doctor Who?
From the start of the reboot (Chistopher Eccleston onwards, since you don't really need to know anything that happened from Harthell onwards, plus a few episodes from those times are missing.)
Also you don't need to know much before the last years series, since it was new Doctor and Assistant.

In actuality it's not so much that I dislike Zooey but more that I've never seen what's so special about her. I liked 500 Days of Summer... but not really because of her.
I'm more into an Aubrey Plaza-type myself, which is a great segue into how awesome Parks & Recreation is. If you're not watching Parks, you are missing out on a great show. It has Aubrey Plaza as April Ludgate, who is downright hilarious and my favorite fictional character since Daria and Ryan Howard from The Office. Nick Offerman and Aziz Ansari are also spectacular, not to mention leading lady Amy Poehler and Party Down's Adam Scott. Actually, pretty much the entire cast rocks, though I'm kind of glad Paul Schneider left, since he was pointless by the end of season two. It also has the beautiful Rashida Jones, who is sadly becoming an underutilized and unlikable peripheral character, though an event that occurred toward the end of season three gives me hope that her character will once again become pertinent and likable.
