I know I'm totally latesauce with this one, but did anyone else see it? If so, what did you think? Personally, that is my favorite movie, no hyperbole (Although the comics are indeed better). But yeah, your thoughts?

I've heard a lot of positive talk, and the premise seems pretty funny. Can you give me a rundown of it?
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

^Early-twenties slacker Canadian bassist strikes up romance with mysterious newcomer, is then challenged by & must destroy her 7 evil exes boss-battle style without creating any evil exes of his own.

I saw the movie and loved it, now I'm trying to read through the comic series.

It was outstanding. If not for Inception, I would call this the best movie of the year.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Tracking down this movie so I can watch it.

Just watched a trailer for it, and my first thought was, as Capt would put it, bleep.

I think I saw this in theater four times because I knew it wasn't going to be as great when it wasn't in theaters. However, like Cap't said, if not for Inception, it was the best movie of the year.

^They aren't teens. Only Knives and Stacey are under age 20.

This will probably come as a surprise to some people hearing this from me:

I ****ing LOVED this movie. I liked the way that Edgar Wright was able to use editing as a source of humor in one scene. I also liked the fact that the movie didn't have the stench of self-importance permeating through every scene. It's a silly movie that knows it's a silly movie (albeit a very clever silly movie), shot in an audacious style that rings true to the comic book it came from, but it was made with competence and craft (unlike your average manufactured mainstream comedy, relying on familiar stars and horribly idiotic comedy to get by). It also helped that the action sequences were actually comprehensible. Some of you might remember me complaining about how much Western action sequences suck. Here's a movie where they don't. I mean, it's no Fist of Legend but I don't expect Jet Li from Michael Cera.

Also, Ellen Wong and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are hot. The music is pretty good too. Also, Zelda references.

^Every single woman in the movie is hot, just those two moreso (although I actually prefer Anna Kendrick).
I actually did think you'd like it, considering Wright's attention to composition & the plainimetric shots at the party. :)

I've seriously seen this movie three times in the past couple weeks. I don't think I've liked a Hollywood "popcorn" flick this much in a long time. Hell, I even like it more than a lot of the pretentious art films I've been heaping praise over for the past few years.

I enjoyed some of the music( the band Metric did Envy's band and I was pretty ok with it) and I think they cast it very well. They did end it a little differently but it made more sense to me. One of the best movies of the year and the only one I went to a midnight premier for.

Also much better in theater's but a great movie for movie night.

^Re: The ending - The movie was made before the last book was finished, & the author told the director not to worry about matching up the endings.
