He's from the bad future. He changes the past to create an alternate good future. Or something.

Yeah... time travel resolutions are still up in the air. There's two popular viewpoints that I'm aware of (of time travel in general)

1. There are multiple universe timelines, and his interference in the past produces a new universe
2. There's only one timeline, and there's a paradox

Noooooooooo.... I think that it was a sort of alternate future. Like there are two possible timelines in the Dragon Ball Universe, and something about Goku dying and the androids and Cell would lead to Trunk's future. It still exists (Shin Budokai: Another Road takes place in his time) alongside GT's time, in my opinion.

Honestly, I like DBZ alot better that GT. I like GT, but GT really makes some of the characters that made DBZ be DBZ into side-characters that were barely in it. Such as Gohan, Goten, Vegeta, etc... At least in the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga.
