The Princess and the Frog

The Princess and the Frog is Disney's next animated feature film, the first "traditionally animated" one since Home on the Range in 2004. To be released December this year, the film features a retelling of the "Frog Princess" fairytale, set in the French Quarter of New Orleans in the 1920's.
Aside from all the hype about having Disney's first black princess, what do you all expect? Will this movie redeem Disney, or will it blow up in their faces?

I am SO excited. The animation looks beautiful, and the animated films always were my favorite. I have pretty high expectations for this, so I'm hoping it's done well.

Looks entertaining. Plenty of glowy effects, whatever you call them.

"WHAAAAAA SHE'S A CHAMBERMAID!!!"
"WHAAAAA SHE'S NOT A CHAMBERMAID!!!"
"WHAAAAA! HER PRINCE IS NOT BLACK!!! HE LOOKS HISPANIC SINCE HIS VA'S GOING TO BE BRAZILIAN!!!"
"WHAAAAA THIS IS RACIST!"
honest to god... -_- I still wanna see it anyways in the hopes that it'll be like Coraline and that if it's profitable to use traditional methods as opposed to rubber CGI that we'll see more or that they'll acknowledge older-than-12 audiences. :)

Eh. Seems okay. It's not THAT funny, but it looks kinda good. :)

I predict the film's level of quality will be inversely proportional to the amount of irritating pop ballads it is bound to contain.

It looks like something that was animated in the 90s surprisingly. Though you can tell the obvious "Dick Tracy Law" in effect with the villain...he LOOKS evil.
I'm surprsied nobody's saying "omg there's nobody with southern accents therefore it's not accurate" despite that nobody said anything about how most people didn't even pronounce "New Orleans" correctly in Gabriel Knight. (And how Tim Curry's voice kept slipping through the fake accent.)
P.S. Keith David is The Arbiter and Goliath.

The villain looks awesome.
He'd better get a song.

It looks like what would normally be a 30-minute cartoon or 5-minute short was stretched out into a movie. Looks okay, but it seemed like as Disney was making, they all of a sudden realize they've never made a movie about a black princess before, so they had to add that to the movie. I'm not a racist or anything, but it seemed like it.

Val: It sounds like he'll have a rather slow song.
1up: Errr...I hear they wanted to do it about a black princess from the start of this project. What better setting than New Orleans?

Technically, Princess Tiana isn't really a princess... she's just some normal chick who dresses up as a princess to impress an actual prince who's visiting, or something like that.
Then again, a lot of Disney "princesses" aren't technically princesses.

Like that Ariel freak. Being a princess of a bunch of undersea mutants doesn't count in my book.

But she marries Prince Eric at the end of the film, so she becomes a human princess anyway.
