The Next Batman

I want to stir a little something up around here. There has been NO OFFICIAL WORD on anything having to do with the next Batman film. Any cast actors are all BS or fan wank. But I'm here to ask you what you think will happen in the next one? Who should be the villains? And should the Joker return?
Myself, I think that the Joker should logically return if the script calls for it. People may cry heresy because Heath is dead, but in all honesty, Heath did the hard part. He made the template for the Joker. If someone was good enough to fill his shoes and make us believe it's the same character, I'd welcome him.
The new villains leave a little room for speculation.
With Rachael dead it leaves us without a female lead. Catwoman would fill that gap very nicely. Like the other villains, she would need a bit of a retooling, but it could be very good.
Penguin would be another great alternative as kind of a mob mastermind. But I'm sure Nolan would want to avoid obvious comparisons to Batman Returns by not including both The Penguin and Catwoman. The popular choice for the next movie is the Riddler. He could be good if done like the movie "Seven," but as he is, the Riddler is just too goofy. Personally, I think Killer Moth could be great. An evil spin on the Batman character. Again, an obvious retooling would have to take place.
Also, with the tumbler destroyed, we'll be seeing a new Batmobile.
I really hope they don't try to use characters like Clayface, Killer Croc, or Man-Bat. They're just too out-there and would turn the movie into another Spider-Man 3 (thanks to Venom).

I don't care if they use The Joker again, they just need to get a damn fine actor to replace Heath.

no major joker return
catwomen could be in as long as shes not the "Major" villian.
Penguin and riddler could work but they would need a major retooling like the joker had. Maybe less so with the penguin, but he would need to get a new gimmick besides magic umbrella cars and stuff.
don't really know any other batman villains I guess.

I had this idea of reworking Harley Quinn as a successor to the Joker rather than a sidekick. She'd be a disciple he picks up in Arkham, maybe an impressionable nurse or something.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I made a small rename of the topic, since the next film will technically be the seventh Batman film (even though it'd be the third in the Nolan/Bale series)
Also, I believe the Riddler can be really well done if played by the right person.
There are essentially two versions of the character that appears in the comics: the goofy version in spandex and the more serious version, who wears a green jacket and bowler hat. It's the latter version that I believe would make a great villain if done right.
In fact I found a great image of that latter version of the Riddler:

(Can you truly call this guy goofy?)

One thing I don't want is another villain appearing as a re-hash of the Joker's character.
And I wouldn't complain if Two-Face reappeared for the sequel. In fact, it would've been better if he had been made for the sequel rather than just crammed into the end of TDK.

Man-bat might make a good creation/henchman,but not great by himself.
Or maybe open up by having Batman take out Man-bat.Dunno.
I actually think that the riddler would prolly be the best choice for the sequel, but it'll be hard to top the joker.
As far as bringing the joker back, look at the post I thaked above, that's pretty much it.
Just so long as he's not that big of a part of the next one.

I totally thought he was speculating about Batman Returns, since I was counting the Adam West movie.

Riddler seems like a good choice.
Two-Face is dead.
And to bring him back in a sequel would diminish the character from The Dark Knight.

I would want the Riddler, Killer Croc as a side-villain, (for those of you who aren't fans of the Riddler or Killer Croc, read both volumes of Batman: Hush. Now that's doing them right.)
I don't know if they should of killed off Two-Face that quickly.
But they could use Hush in Two-Face's place, though. He's much like him. For those of you who don't know, Hush is a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, named Thomas Elliot. Again, read both volumes of Batman: Hush and if you don't have any money, try to find some scans of it or look it up on Wikipedia.
Using Oracle in the Nolan series would be good, she would be a sort of 'Otacon' for Batman. The only problem is, in order to use Oracle without screwing her up, she would need to be Batgirl first, and in order to fit in with the comic story she would need to be paralyzed by the Joker, and that would mean the Joker would have to come back, and that means we would need a good actor that is like Heath Ledger for all of this to be necessary.
How about instead of using Man-Bat as a villain, how about in a strange chemical accident Batman being transformed into a Man-Bat? Nah, I dunno.
How about Bane? Their could be a movie where he breaks Batman's back like in Batman: Knightfall, and then they could throw in Azrael to temporarily be the Bat.

^ I don't think Bane can ever be a credible film villain after his (mis)use in Batman and Robin.
Also, everyone is throwing people like Killer Croc and Man-Bat around. However, I believe it is the filmmakers want everything in this series to be a bit more grounded in reality than previous films (i.e. I wouldn't bet on mutant-like characters)

Also, how could I forget Mr. Freeze? We need him in this series.

Crapyes, we need Mr. Freeze. That would be so awesome.

Calendar Man, duh.

Terrifying.
But I do like that Killer Moth idea. 'Kinda fits with the whole "down with Gotham" theme that seems to be part of the movies.

Bane would be amazing, but I think we need at least one more movie before he shows up. Cause we all know what is going to happen when Bane is announced.

Capt: I actually like the Harley Quinn idea too. You're not the only one who thought of that.

Harley Quinn is great, but not exactly as a main villain. More as Joker's partner.

Hell yeah we need Mr. Freeze. Only if they can get Arnold to reprise his role. That would be great.
I have an awesome idea on how they could introduce him, too. Batman is brooding on top of a building in the middle of downtown Gotham, crying softly to himself about how nobody likes him anymore, and suddenly there's a scratch of gravel behind him and Batman's all, 'Who is it? I am the Bat,' in his raspy ten-packs-a-day batvoice (raspier than usual due to him crying, of course). And Mr. Freeze steps into view, and he's all, 'HELLO BATMAN WLARRRGH'. And Batman's all, 'You scum, how did you get out of Arkham I am vengeance', and so Mr. Freeze is all, 'ICE TO SEE YOU TOO BLUHHHH' and Batman says 'I'm going to have to take you back the weed of crime bears bitter fruit'. But then Mr. Freeze notices that Batman is literally dripping with tears, and he says, 'BATMAN WHY ARE YOU SO SAD YOU'RE THE HERO OF GOTHAM WARRRGHHYAHHH', which makes Batman break down sobbing uncontrollably. Then Mr. Freeze puts his hand comfortingly on Batman's shoulder and says 'THERE THERE THERE EVERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT SO JUST CHILL OUT', and Mr. Freeze's awesome puns heal the wound in Batman's heart, and he starts laughing through the pain, and Mr. Freeze starts laughing, too. They're both clutching their stomachs, howling with laughter, and then they do bro grabs. It's really touching. Then there's an awesome training montage which shows Batman and Mr. Freeze sparring in the gym, lifting weights together, sprinting down a beach, practicing their footwork, etc. All in preparation for Batman to take back his title from Clubber Lang. Yeah. I'd go see that.

I knew I had sorta semi-plagiarized it, but I'd forgotten who from.
