Anime doesn't like black people.

Seriously, when has there been an anime with a black man as the star?

I want you to walk down any random street in Japan and tell me the number of non-Asian people you see.

Gonna go with tehDarkness, here. They're just not exposed to other races, as much.

This is somewhat off-topic but from what I've seen it seems Anime lack winter settings in their shows, or autumn for that matter. Out of randomosity, does Japan experience little to no seasonal change or something?

They tend to experience a milder winter, but they place more significance on other seasons. If you see pink/flowering trees in anime, that's their version of spring.

A lot of animated shows (all over) avoid the subject of season change, but then turn around to make a few episodes that specifically focus on it.

Wolf's Rain prominantly features winter scenes, from the top of my memory.

Any anime that takes place in Hokkaido will have and obligatory hot spring/ snow episode.

Afro Samurai. It sucked but also, Commander Black from Dragon Ball...uh, Balrog from Street Fighter. Anime can be diverse, but anime really centers around young teen (Japanese?) girls with magic powers with sexually explicit transformation sequences.

Boondocks wasn't anime. It was originally a comic strip that was adapted into a television show.

Afro Samurai. You guys helped find the diversity I've been looking for.

Eureka 7 had a black guy, I think.

A lot of anime takes place around Japan, so...yeah.

I think it has achieved a decent level of "this"; any more or less and who knows what might happen.

Afro Samurai had Sam Jackson, give it a (negative?) point for that at least.

Citing the token black character does not make them a main character.
