He isn't funny, and neither is his show.

I've never seen him do or say ANYTHING that's even slightly humorous.

The problem I have with him (and a lot of stand-up in general) is that there seems to be too much of the "Look at me! I'm Latino! So I'll make Latino jokes cause I'm Latino!" mentality. *shrug*
I'm not saying I don't think he's funny, but I just like stand-up comedians who joke about normal, everyday stuff that we can all relate to. Not [insert demographic here] jokes.

Well, Lopez isn't that bad. At least he's funnier than the other "Mexican" comedian: Mencia.
But almost every comedian is funnier than Mencia.

Carlos Mencia's real name is Ned Holness.

I like Gabriel Iglesias. But then, he's actually...ya know...funny.

And isn't he like half-German, Half Honduran? Or something like that?

But Iglesias has better material. He's also a better impressionist; Lopez's 'impression' consists of sounding like a valley girl with throat cancer, whereas Iglesias can do a pretty good little variety of voices. As well, he really doesn't do as much outright racist material, since a lot more of his material relates to buddy incidents instead of "LOL MY GRANDMA WAS AN ASS".

I like his show. Sometimes he can be funny, and sometimes he goes overboard.

Bartman101 wrote:But then again, you could say the same thing for African American comedians. Take a look at Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Katt Williams, I mean like, they bring out black stereotypes to make jokes out of it, but ofc, they all switch up their style too.
I always thought Chris Rock's style of comedy was a bit more akin to white comics like George Carlin and Louis C.K., though as far as his topics of discussion go he definitely does his fare share of joking about the black community.
Katt Williams also does a few routines that finally point out how hard it is to be short and male. I appreciate him.

Also, Iglesias just has better delivery than Lopez....and he was on All That for its last good year.

Never said he was racist. Just said he does racial material, some of it outright racist. A lot of the whole "I like to say what all white people do is *insert Spanish word for gay here*", such as walking our dogs or listening to 80s music.
I mean, no offense. I'd probably get defensive if someone started rattling on against Russel Peters (who is probably even more 'racist' than George Lopez).
